Course Description

IIT Jodhpur MTech admissions are based on a GATE Score followed by COAP counseling. For IIT Jodhpur MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date for regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with a late fee) is 20 October 2023.

IIT Jodhpur offers MTech courses in 12 specializations for a duration of 2 years divided into 4 semesters. IIT Jodhpur allows admission to its MTech program on securing valid GATE scores and COAP counseling. The 2023 cutoff by marks for IIT Jodhpur MTech ranges between 500-707. The institute has participated in COAP counselling 2023 till round 10.

Candidates having a BTech degree in Engineering or Science with 60% aggregate for GEN/OBC and 55% SC/ST/PD can apply for IIT Jodhpur MTech admission 2024. Part-time/External/Employer Sponsored candidates are also eligible to apply if they have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in R&D/Industry/Academic institutions. IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria for Regular/Fulltime Candidates for IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Program are as follows:

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or science (4-year program) or a master's degree in science, MCA, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or a similar discipline.
A minimum of 60% marks for GEN/OBC (55% for SC/ST/PD) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute or a minimum CGPA of 6.0 for GEN/OBC (5.5 for/ST/PD) category on the scale of 10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10 (for example 4.8 for GEN/OBC category (4.4 for SC/ST/PD) on a scale of 8) or a first-class as specified by the university/institute.
For Regular Full-Time Applicants with Financial Support: The applicant must either have a valid GATE score or be exempt from GATE according to the MHRD circular or have qualified in an equivalent National Examination or the written test and/or interview held by IIT Jodhpur.

At the time of application, the applicant must have a minimum of two years of work experience (after obtaining a qualifying degree) in industry/R&D laboratories/Academic Institutions. The applicant must pass the IIT Jodhpur written test and/or interview.

Applicants must apply on the official website of IIT Jodhpur in addition to completing the GATE and COAP application processes. The application process is conducted entirely online. IIT Jodhpur M.Tech Selection Criteria

MTech Admissions are based on a GATE Score followed by valid COAP counseling.
For Part-time candidates, Candidates are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization
Candidates in the final year of their programs and who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before the third week of July 2023 are eligible to apply for admission.
Admission to M.Tech (part-time) programs is restricted to personnel of Public Sector Undertakings, Government Departments, Research and Development Organizations, and Private Companies (as permitted by Faculty Boards).

This is very important in today's world and can be useful if you wish to get into a computer or technology-related job in the future. Electrical and Electronics students are allowed to sit at all the campus interviews of every company including noncore companies too. This is a major advantage for electrical and electronics students to appear for more interviews and get their desired job. Moreover, in the present situation of India, most of the engineers prefer noncore jobs over core companies because they receive higher salaries and more recognition from them. In your fourth year, you will also have core job opportunities in the campus placement drive. According to recent placement highlights of IIT BHU, many students got placed with decent CTC at core companies. Students also performed quite well in competitive examinations like GATE. He has been on the campus for almost 2 years and the facilities are really really good. Whereas IIT Jodhpur has recently shifted to their new campus, so it will take time for them to adjust or maintain the new setting. IIT Patna also has 10 more seats in CSE Department than IIT Jodhpur. According to my cousin who studied CSE at MNIT, if you want a challenging job and you are aiming for PSUs, then mechanical engineering may be good. But the placements of mechanical even in top colleges like IITs will be lower than their CSE counterparts. If you like corporate sector private jobs in the IT or software sector, then CSE at MNIT Jaipur is a very good option. Campus placements will be much easier with packages far higher than mechanical. This does not mean that CSE is an easy subject. It can be difficult especially if you do not have a coding background in your class 11th and 12th. For that, you need to put extra effort during your graduation. However, IIT Jodhpur is a second-generation IIT whereas IIT Tirupati is a third-generation IIT and has a long way to go to be at par with IIT Jodhpur. Based on what I heard from my friends at IIT Jodhpur, I can say it has a terrific campus. It is the first fully planned technical campus with unique Incubation and Technology Park. IIT Jodhpur is making good advances in its placement and research work. Students at the institute get placed in core and non-core companies. Many alumni of the institute are also pursuing their studies in foreign universities. Here are some recent statistics regarding the two institutes. IIT Tirupati- 77% of the total eligible students were placed from the Mechanical branch. The students from mechanical engineering have an average package of 7.7 LPA. The top recruiters were TCS, Bosch, Versa network, ZS associates, etc. In terms of grand total fees, Both IIT Jodhpur and IIT Tirupati are the same. With respect to the placement opportunities, IIT Jodhpur has a better exposure than IIT Tirupati. Both the institutes are well renowned for mechanical engineering.

Both institutions provide good opportunities to explore one’s interests and excel in it. IIT Bhubaneswar And IIT Jodhpur, both have a newly built campus. The Bhubaneswar campus is situated at the foothills of Barunei hills, outside the city of Bhubaneswar. The Jodhpur campus is situated nearly 24 Km away from the center of Jodhpur city on national highway 65. But both the campus provides a decent environment for studies away from the city’s restless life. IIT BBS has some good tech societies for CS/IT students to enhance and develop good coding and technical skills, comparing the tech and coding environment of both, IIT Bhubaneswar gets an edge over IIT Jodhpur. Both the IITs have good placement statistics and many big known companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit every year for placements. In the year 2019-2020, both IITs had 100% placement for Computer Science students. The two IITs have nearly the same placement package for CSE students. Talking about the hostel facilities, both the IITs has newly built hostels. LAN-Wifi facility is available in hostels as well as in academic sections. The tuition fee for IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT Jodhpur is respectively 1.98 lakhs/year and 1.41 lakhs/year. As both the institutes are new IITs and growing, one will get to explore new things and will get good exposure and opportunities.
