Ques

Which one is better among them for a fresher without work experience: IIM Ranchi or IIM Trichy or IIM Raipur?

● Top Answer By Srishti Gupta on 20 Jul 22

Ans
IIM Trichy is the best option among these. It is especially good for Strategy, Finance, and Marketing specialization. The institute has an excellent placement record. IIM Trichy placement 2022 ended with an average CTC of INR 17.01 LPA, while the highest CTC offered this year was INR 34 LPA. It has a permanent campus and offers an enviable campus experience to students.  If you want to specialize in HR, IIM Ranchi will be a better option.

Ques

In today's time, which option would be the best- IIM Ranchi or IIM Udaipur?

● Top Answer By Rahul Chaudhary on 31 Jul 21

Ans
Having some friends studying in both the IIMs has given me some insight into the institutions. I can say that there is no significant difference between the two IIMs. They're both doing well. However, the impression is important, and Ranchi now has a stronger reputation than Udaipur, which may be due to its somewhat higher placement figures. Ranchi will win out over Udaipur. As a result, you make your decision depending on your criteria. You will not regret it if you join any of them. In the end, it should be a personal choice based on your research and priorities. Always be grateful for the fact that you got admission to an IIM. Categories IIM Ranchi IIM Udaipur Course Fee 9.75 lakhs 15.5 lakhs Highest CTC 27 LPA 22 LPA Average CTC 12 LPA 12 LPA Recruiting Companies Flipkart, Deloitte, IBM, DE Shaw, etc. Cisco, Pidilite, ICICI Bank, Goldman Sachs, etc. During this two-year journey, you will experience the highs and lows. But one thing is certain: you will cherish every last detail of it in the years to come.

Ques

Which IIM should I prefer, Ranchi/ Rohtak/ Raipur/ Udaipur? And why?

● Top Answer By Arshdeep Sehra on 25 Jan 23

Ans
Out of the IIMs like IIM Rohtak, IIM Raipur, and IIM Udaipur, IIM Ranchi may be the best choice for several reasons. Firstly, despite being an IIM, IIM Ranchi is relatively new and is still working towards building a reputation for itself. On the other hand, IIM Ranchi is an established institution that has been around for longer and can be trusted for its campus, faculty, and placements.  Additionally, as a newer institute, IIM Ranchi may be more focused on making a mark and establishing itself as a top business school, which could potentially lead to a more dedicated and driven faculty and student body. Overall, while all the IIMs are highly regarded institutes, IIM Ranchi may offer a unique and potentially more rewarding experience due to its status as a newer institute.

Ques

Why should I choose HR program from IIM Ranchi over XLRI?

● Top Answer By Samarth Gaur on 25 Jan 23

Ans
XLRI, founded in 1958, was the first institute in India to offer a specialized program in Human Resources Management. It is consistently ranked as one of the top private business schools in India and is known for attracting top business organizations to recruit its students. XLRI has a strong legacy of producing successful business leaders and is a meeting place for some of the brightest minds from around the world. The campus at XLRI offers a unique atmosphere with a serene and green environment, high-quality fellow students, and a range of extracurricular activities that help to develop students' personalities and prepare them for the challenges of the business world.  If you believe that IIM Ranchi can offer similar or better opportunities, then it may be worth considering as an alternative to XLRI.

Which IIM is better, IIM Shillong, IIM Ranchi or IIM Rohtak? Why?

● Top Answer By Debopriyo Mukharjee on 28 Apr 22

Among these IIMs, IIM Shillong is the best option. Being an older institute it offers better course content, faculty, placements, extra-curricular and industry connections. ● Top Answer By Ayush Jain on 04 Apr 22

Among these colleges, IIFT Kolkata or MDI will be better for Finance. According to MDI Gurgaon placements 2022 record, BFSI, and E-Commerce sectors had placement rates of 22% and 13%. During 2021 placement drive, 55 students from MDI were placed in the Finance sector. The highest CTC offered in this sector was INR 21-23 LPA.  You can also consider IIFT Kolkata. Ques

Which is better, SCMHRD or IIM Ranchi PGDHRM?

● Top Answer By Sanskar Nigam on 25 Jan 23

Ans
If you are interested in pursuing a degree in human resources management from one of the top B schools in India, you may want to consider SCMHRD. This institute is known for its strong reputation in the field of HR and can provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this competitive industry. On the other hand, if you are primarily interested in obtaining an IIM degree, then IIM Ranchi may be a good option for you. While IIM Ranchi is considered to be one of the best among the newer IIMs, it may not have the same level of prestige or reputation as some of the more established institutes.  If your primary goal is to increase your chances of being placed in a top company and obtaining a high salary package in the field of HR, then SCMHRD may be a more suitable choice. It is important to carefully consider your goals and priorities before making a decision on which business school to attend.

Ques

What are reviews of the PGDHRM program at IIM Ranchi?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Yadav on 25 Jan 23

Ans
There has been a lot of talk and misconceptions about whether the PGDHRM is as good as XLRI TISS or any other 'HR institute'. The PGDHRM stands out due to its unique curriculum and ideology. It is recognized that HR is not just about soft skills, and the course has been designed to be futuristic and not obsolete like some peer institutes. The PGDHRM has several courses in quantitative analytics and HR analytics, taught by industrialists and professors from IIM A. These courses include lectures on IBM cognitive intelligence, tableau, statistical tool R, and SPSS. One of the best parts of the PGDHRM is that it has visiting professors from top institutes such as IIM A, B, C, L, I, XLRI, TISS, and GIMS, as well as senior specialists from ILO and the former Economic Times’ chief editor. The PGDHRM also has a special alliance with the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, which offers a unique leadership experience. As part of this program, students had the opportunity to meet the first woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, Bachendri Pal. Placement opportunities at the PGDHRM are reportedly higher than those at other institutes and are expected to increase in the coming years. However, the institute places a greater emphasis on instilling a curiosity to learn rather than acting as a placement shop. While the campus infrastructure may need some improvement, the hostels at the National Games Complex are reportedly very nice. Ultimately, it is students' actions and what they learn that define them, not the physical campus or facilities.

Ques

What should be my preference between IIM Shillong & IIM Ranchi?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 25 Jan 23

Ans
To compare two business schools objectively, it is important to consider more than just the numbers in placement reports. In addition to looking at the average CTC, it is also helpful to consider the median salary to get a better understanding of the context. It is possible that the average CTC may be significantly influenced by international offers or a small percentage of the batch securing high-paying jobs. When comparing the maximum and average packages offered, it is important to keep in mind that institutes often include international offers in these calculations. In addition to the number of roles offered, it is important to consider the quality of the recruiters and brands. It may be helpful to look at the LinkedIn profiles of alumni to get a better understanding of the roles and companies that have been recruited from the school. It is also important to note that the same companies may be listed in the placement reports of different schools, but that does not necessarily mean that the roles and packages offered are the same. Finally, it is important to remember that a business school education is about more than just placements, and what a student makes of their MBA experience is also important.
