Course Description

SRM University MBA admission 2023 is open now. The last date to apply for SRMJEEM 2023 Phase 4 application is June 19 and the exam will be held on June 24, 2023. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website – srmist.edu.in. Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in their bachelors and must have a valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/SRMJEEM to apply. Visit official website to apply.

SRMJEEM is the joint entrance examination for MBA course offered at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram & Vadapalani Campus. Integrated MBA is provided at NCR Campus, Delhi. Average fees of MBA program would be ranges from INR 1, 00,000 to 2, 50,000. Number of seats available for MBA programme will be decided by the Board of Management, SRM IST. Selection will solely depend on the performance in SRMCAT.

Apart from offering the full time MBA course, SRM IST is also offering 3 years part time MBA for working professionals. Apart from regular disciplines, SRM IST also offers vertical specializations in management. Here final year students have to take 12 weeks of research work in their area of expertise & have to submit it along with their final project report. Check SRM IST Admission

SRM University MBA Eligibility Criteria

B.com (P) from a recognized university or board with at least 50% marks in aggregate. or B.com (H)/BBA from a recognized university or board with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the student must include a minimum of three years of regular education after completion of 10+2 or equivalent.
Students can apply for the admission on the basis of marks obtained in GMAT / CAT / XAT / TANCET / CMAT. Students who will qualify in MAT conducted by AIMA are also eligible to apply. They do not need to appear for entrance test conducted by the university.
Applicants have to fulfill the medical standards as set by the admission committee as it will be checked at the time of final admission.

SRM University MBA Admission Criteria

SRM will declare Merit List which will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in SRMJEEM.
Students shortlisted in merit list will be called for group discussion in which they will be given one topic to express their own opinion.
After that shortlisted students will be called for personal interview in which they will be assessed on the basis of individual capabilities and skills.
Seat will be confirmed as per the availability and choice made for branches of the SRM.
The whole process will be done by the admission committee of SRM.

SRM University MBA Application Process

There are two modes available for application:

Online Mode:

First log in to www.srmuniv.ac.in & navigate to the admission link then click on Apply online link.
Fill up the necessary details such as name, date of birth, contact number, e-mail ID, temporary address and permanent address. This step will generate your login-ID & password.
Now agree to the terms & conditions by tick-marking the appropriate box & proceed.
Create your application by choosing by showing your preference to course & campuses under SRM IST.
After that you have to pay application fee of INR 1000 through net banking.

Offline Mode:

You can download the application form from the official website of the SRM IST i.e. www.srmuniv.ac.in.
Send the duly filled application form along with Demand Draft of INR 1000 in favor of ‘SRMIST’ payable AT Chennai to:

SRM University provides very good support to its students for placements. If you have done nothing much in the last four years but have worked quite hard in the CCC training, you can easily bag INR 6 to 7 lakhs per annum. More than 150 different companies visit SRM and offer to begin from INR 3 LPA - 42 LPA. There are also top 4 mass recruiters that include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Cognizant. Last year, about 5000 different offers came from these companies. There are also other companies that offer a variety of roles and you can appear for up to 3 to 4 company exams in a day. If you are good at coding with fluent knowledge of it, your chances of getting placed are quite high. You will surely do well. You should sit for the company that is worth your potential as SRM has rules regarding placements. At the end of placement season, you will have about 2 to 3 offers in hand. You can then choose which company you would like to go for.

For CSE, SRM is the better option. The academics, campus life, and facilities offered are good. Major recruiting companies such as Amazon, Honda, Cognizant, etc. recruit through the campus drive. SRM placements 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 1 CPA. The institute offers decent exposure. The networking opportunities are ample.

It depends on the branch or department you are choosing in CUSAT and SRM. Here is the highlight of the recent placement statistics for the institutes. Parameters CUSAT SRM Average CTC 4.96 LPA 10 LPA Highest CTC 18 LPA 35 LPA Top recruiters L&T Infotech, Tata Hitachi, JSW Steel, Infosys, Reliance TCS, Wipro, HCL, TATA Chemicals, KPT If you want to go in Ship Tech, CS and IT, Safety and Fire, then Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a better option than SRM. But if you are looking to make your career in Civil, EEE or EC, Mechanical then SRM is better than Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). One of my friends studies at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). According to him, although CUSA has better students than SRM, no private companies come for recruitment at the campus for core branches. In SRM big companies come for placement. You also can sit for placement drives of companies. Some of the recruiters of SRM are L&T, Pallonji, Shapoorji, etc. You also get to face competition in SRM. If you are willing to join CUSAT core branches then you have to look out for off-campus placements or can also prepare for GATE, UPSC, or IES.

Your preference order should be SRM>Manipal>KIIT. However, you should choose one of these institutes according to your preference and requirements. SRM and Manipal are quite expensive. But these institute offers an enviable campus experience. On an overall scale, SRM main campus will be the best choice. SRM University placements 2021 had the highest CTC of INR 35 LPA.

One of my cousins graduated from SRM University and here are some of the things I got to know from him, regarding your question. To be honest, I do not know how authentic this statement is, as SRM University is as local as a rural university in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar. Out of 3000 staff members, only 6 are from IITs. Most of them are from affiliated self-financing colleges like Anna University. Some of them are from deemed universities like Satyabhama, Vels and Bharath University. Most of the teachers of their management department are from Vinayaka Mission University and Alagappa University. The physics and mathematics staff are from local colleges. The CSE department does not have good teachers, most of them graduated from SRM only. There are also no visiting faculty. Do check the official website of the college to get an elaborate view of the faculty profiles. It is a local university thus their scope and reach is limited.

Among these, Thapar is the best option. Thapar University has a better brand value. Since the institute takes admission based on merit, the student crowd at Thapar is better. Thapar University has a better faculty base, comparably. It offers great academics. The curriculum followed is perfectly balanced between practical learning and theoretical concepts. The labs are fully equipped. The university has signed an MoU with Trinity College for providing a research-inspired educational experience to students. Thapar has many societies. You can register in any of these and develop an interest in whichever stream you want. Each branch has its own students chapters. The aim of the student chapter is to help students excel in technical fields. These factors make Thapar better than VIT and SRM.

Choose MSIT if you want to prioritize degree value over cost. Otherwise, go with SRM. MSIT CSE placements are excellent, but if you live in a politically neutral environment with large campuses, consider SRM, Chennai. Technical societies, such as IEEE, are very active, and if you are fortunate enough to be a part of them, it is better for you in terms of placement and 'knowledge building. If you are serious about expanding your knowledge, there are a few amazing teachers as well as seniors who can assist and guide you. It is entirely up to you to make the most of the available opportunities.

And if we talk about SRM for an MBA, then definitely it is a great deal, with so many events encouraging students to broaden their horizons. Vel tech is less expensive than SRM, Although the quality of education is better in SRM in comparison to Vel tech. Here is a brief comparison of Vel Tech and SRM. According to my friend at SRM, the KTR campus of SRM is the best choice. If you consider factors like faculty, placements, and a lot more. The points below will provide you a brief overview of all the institutes stated above and the advantages of SRM over them. SRM University has three campuses, first in Kattankulathur, second in Ramapuram, and third in Vadapalani. The campus in Kattankulathur (KTR) is marked as the best among them. In SRM KTR, will make you a real engineer. It has excellent faculty, provides a lot of on-campus placement opportunities, and is also good in extra-curricular activities. The other two campuses of SRM, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani, are somewhat satisfactory, but not as good as the KTR campus. Talking about the NCR, the campus is quite far away from Delhi, which results in a lot of travel to and from Delhi on weekends. The faculty of NCR is not that good and so students have to be dependent on self-study. The placements are decent because it is held in the Chennai (KTR) campus. But, the NCR campus has much lesser fees than the Chennai campus and so, it is considered better. The Manipal University is called a happening campus, which provides excellent college life, extra-curricular activities, party culture, etc. But, students in Manipal University should be aware of the bad habits on campus and choose friends wisely for the same reason.
