The PGPX IIMU-Purdue Supply Chain Management duel degree program is a unique program. The coursework is rigorous. Think of this course as a long term investment in yourself and you will be able to benefit from it in 2 to 3 years. You will realize after the first term itself if the course is good or not. In term 2, you will get to learn more about technology and do projects based in the digital industry like Analytics (descriptive and predictive). As a student of MBA at IIM Udaipur, I can share some information about them with you. The college follows IPRS standards when it reports its placement figures. You should know that there is a difference between IPRS audited reports and non-IPRS audited ones. Many colleges that do not follow IPRS will show higher placement reports as they take into account any additional sums like ESOPS or even bonuses for that matter. These could be receivable one year after employment but are still included in the campus recruitments. On the other hand, IPRS is known to provide salary breakdowns for the year and clear statements as to what is the base and variable pay. Similarly, non-IPRS colleges will also show higher figures for internships by including the stipend provided for transport, accommodation, etc. In my opinion, these are just inflated figures. How good is IIM Udaipur's DEM (Digital Enterprise Management) program and what is the average placement for the one year DEM program?

Well, my brother is currently enrolled in the DEM program. So, I can tell you about what he has learned so far and what was his experience as he’s still in the first term of the course. About the course: The course format is a whip-up of courses that will help you comprehend the commercial implications of modern digital technologies. A full semester is devoted to live business simulation projects. The first term focuses on business topics that include operations, economics, and accounting. In addition, subjects like Statistics and Advanced Analytics are offered in the first term, laying the framework for future terms in which the emphasis would be entirely on digital technology. This is the first program in India where Design Thinking is taught as a full-fledged course over two terms by two industry stalwarts and academics who have previously taught at IIM-A, B, and K. Faculty: Now getting down to the Faculty, they have been excellent so far, and there’s no reason to believe that this will not continue in the coming two terms. Members of the advisory board for this new course include representatives from Flipkart, IBM, and Deloitte, to mention a few. As a result, this was created in partnership with industry leaders. To summarise, my brother’s experience there has been excellent so far, and like every other student he too enrolled in this course, he has high expectations for the following semesters. As of now, only the first batch has had placements. According to the placement highlights, around 93% of the batch got job offers. Some of the major recruiters were Deloitte, CGI, Accenture, etc.

The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur is regarded as one of the best institutes for management education. The Institute is well-known for providing its students with a transformative experience. The institutes emphasis on entrepreneurship, rural and global immersion, and other distinguishing features set it apart. Values and transparency are also regarded as critical components that are deeply ingrained in the institutes culture and activities. One of the most important aspects that IIMU students have highlighted is the ability to put classroom knowledge into practice. Students have numerous opportunities to do so through student bodies such as clubs and committees. The administration also fully supports the students in their endeavors. With numerous initiatives by clubs, committees, and campus businesses constantly on the horizon, students are constantly engaged and motivated to develop their skills and explore their interests. Being a part of the IIMU legacy is regarded as a great motivator for students. They are proud to be a part of an institute known for producing great leaders and entrepreneurs. The sense of belonging to such a prestigious institute lingers with them long after they graduate.

Is it worth it to go into 6 new IIMs (Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Udaipur, Trichy & Kashipur) rather than going for an MS?

Before choosing a college, try to make sure what you are really interested in. If it is MS then don’t go for any IIM. This is because you can pursue an MBA later in life if MS did not work for you. But you will not get the chance to choose Ms after your MBA. Also since it’s your area of interest, chances are you might find your talents and may want to work on them. Now if you are sure about the course but confused about the IIMs, I will give you my honest opinion. The new IIMs are enjoying fame and glory owing to the achievements of their predecessors alone. They haven’t done much to attain the level of older IIMs. These new IIMs are poorly organized. The faculty is below average, the infrastructure is substandard and the teaching is pathetic. Yet they are here to claim the coveted IIM tag. So if you are someone for whom the tag of IIM and its high placement matters only, you can surely go for a new IIM. But if you value education over institutions then base your decision on research.

Which one to choose between IIM Raipur, IIM Udaipur and IIM Trichy for operations?

Your preference order should be IIM Trichy> IIM Udaipur> IIM Raipur. In terms of academics, ROI, placements, recruiting companies, and peer groups, IIM Trichy is the best option for Operation. IIM Trichy placements 2022 highlights show that Operations is among the major recruiting domain. The average and highest CTC offered by the recruiters in this domain were INR 16.7 LPA and INR 22 LPA, respectively.

I got admission (PGDM) opportunities from IIM Rohtak and IIM Udaipur! Should one go or sit for CAT again this year? Any suggestions?

Sitting for CAT again is honestly not a very easy decision. So I will suggest you go for IIM Rohtak itself. This decision will be beneficial under the following circumstances If your past academic performance is not really good. This is because the older IIMs lay emphasis on past academics too much which in reality cannot be changed. So why risk a year when the chances are nearly zero? If you already have 2 or more years of experience, it’s better you don’t forgo the opportunity. If you are interested in domains like Finance or Marketing, it’s better to join now. This is because working too much in the IT field limits your chances of getting into Finance and Marketing. So based on these points you can come up with a decision that’s best for you. Just remember that despite being new, IIM Rohtak belongs to the IIM family which in itself is a brand.

I got 90% in 10, 80% in 12 and 62% in UG. Will I get admission in IIM Udaipur?

A friend of mine is a student of IIM Udaipur. According to him, if your percentile in CAT is 99 and/or above and your performance in the group discussion and personal interview, you may have a good chance of getting admission to IIM Udaipur. The IIMs that have been newly established do not put that much stress on academics. You will get a call from the institute if your scores meet the criteria. The admission also depends on the gender, caste, diversity of the applicants as well. The first and foremost requirement you will have to meet is having a percentile of 99 in your CAT exams.

Which college should I join, VGSoM (IIT Kharagpur) or IIM Udaipur considering the IIM tag and ROI (in favor of VGSoM)? I am inclined towards an MBA in marketing.

For an MBA in Marketing, IIM Udaipur is a better option than IIT Kharagpur. Being an IIM, it offers a more suitable environment for management studies. The faculties are the best in their field. IIM Udaipur placements are great. The placement average is around 100%. The batch of 2022 received an average CTC of around INR 17.5 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 35 LPA. The return on investment for IIM U is decent. IIT KGP is mostly known as a technical institute, for an MBA, IIM Udaipur is better.

IIM Udaipur placements 2023 has been concluded with 100% placements recorded. IIM Udaipur average package increased by 14% and stood at INR 20.3 LPA whereas IIM Udaipur highest package stood at INR 36 LPA. A total of 302 students were placed. Recruiters like Accenture Strategy, Amazon, BCG, BNY participated in the placement drive of 2023.

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur popularly known as IIM Udaipur is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2022 and despite the pandemic, the institute has achieved 95% placements and that too in the month of January. The institute has concluded its placements for the flagship two year 2020-22 MBA batch. Around 315 students participated in the placement drive and 100% students were placed. The highest CTC for the MBA batch of 2022 stood at INR 35 LPA whereas the average CTC stood at INR 17.5 LPA. There was a 22% increase in the Pre-Placement Offers through Summer Internships.

IIM Udaipur has successfully concluded the placements for the 2022 batch of MBA in Global Supply Chain and for the 9th consecutive years the students for this programme have achieved 100% placements. Around 150 Job opportunities were offered to 37 students by 56 recruiters. The Highest CTC stood at INR 35.96 LPA and the Average CTC stood at INR 19.54 LPA.

For the second year in a row, the IIM Udaipur has claimed record placements for its one-year full-time MBA in Digital Enterprise Management batch of 2022. The Highest CTC stood at INR 32.21 LPA and the Average CTC stood at INR 21.30 LPA and there was 5%, 7% and 10% increase in the highest, average and median packages respectively.
