LPU B.Sc. Agriculture Course

LPU B.Sc Agriculture program is of a duration of 4 years and is divided into 8 semesters. LPU B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture program is focused on building knowledge over well-planned on-field execution and analyzing basic conceptions in production, yield enrichment, disease resistance, and improved shelf life of food and flora. 

LPU B.Sc. Agriculture Eligibility Criteria

The qualifying criteria for the program B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture are mentioned below:

• Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English and three subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology and Agriculture) subject to qualifying  LPUNEST or CUET.
• A 5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants.
• The minimum age to take admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture is 16 years.

LPU B.Sc. Agriculture Selection Criteria

The selection of the candidates is based on the entrance examination conducted by the university. The admission procedure is based on the University norms that are based on the merit of the last qualifying examination following eligibility criteria. The final shortlisting is done by a personal interview and English is a mandatory subject as the medium of instruction is English.

Step 1: Register as a new user

• Visit the official website of LPU.
• Click on 'Apply Now' given on top of the home page.
• Register on the LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email, mobile no., state, gender, and password). The email ID used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering.
• Login to the LPUADMIT with an already created username/ password.

Step 2: Application Process

• Fill out the application form and select the program of your choice.
• Upload the documents.
  • Recent Photograph
  • Matriculation Marksheet
  • Qualifying exam Certificate/ Marksheet. If the applicant is claiming a scholarship based on previous qualifications, he/ she is required to submit the previous qualifications exam certificate/mark sheet. In case the exam certificate/mark sheet is not available at the time of filling out the application form (recently appeared), it may be submitted at a later date.

Step 3: Apply for LPUNEST

LPUNEST is an online test that acts as a gateway to the program you are interested in. Admission to this program is done based on performance in LPUNEST. In addition, LPUNEST also acts as a Scholarship test and students can avail of huge scholarships based on performance on this test.

• The cost of the Application form and Soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit is INR 1000 (for Boys) and INR 500 (for Girls).
• The cost of the Application form and Printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1500 (for Boys) and INR 1000 (for Girls).

Step 4: Book the exam slot and appear for LPUNEST

• Book the slot (preferred date and time) to appear in the LPUNEST Exam.
• Appear and qualify for the exam.

Step 5: LPUNEST Result

• Get your scorecard/ rank.
• Download the allotment letter and proceed for admission within 7 days after the declaration of the result.

Various Electives are offered in the Curriculum. These electives are mandatory for the program. Those electives are mentioned below in detail:

• Elementary Mathematics- This program tells the students about the sets, matrices and trigonometric purposes which are cooperative in tackling progress-level mathematics. It gives vision to the essentials of single variable calculus. It will allow students to apply conceptions of derivatives and integrals to real-life circumstances.
• Introductory Biology- Biological education comprises the study of plants and animals. The present course information on the features of the living system, evolution, cell structure and function, cell division, the phylogeny of plants, the morphology of the plant system, and parts of animals to the advantage of humans.

• Commercial Plant Breeding- The course should assist in learning methods for the development on fresh variabilities and quality seed production.
• Food Safety and Standards- The course has an association with the Indian and international food laws and protection standards.
