Read Full ReviewThe hostels are overall good. Not much space specially for girls. There are Ac rooms and single rooms as well as four sharing. Yes, the cost of accommodation is a bit high and many rules to follow. But maybe it's for the good to maintain discipline. There is a gatepass system if you have to leave campus. There is hostel in time to come back to your rooms at night. The mess is fine, the food is good. They don't change menu very frequently but overall the food faculty is good, you have options. They don't provide you with fruits in breakfast much. The cleaning is thoroughly done. They provide you with a fridge, microwave and kettles but there are alot of things that aren't allowed inside. Every now and then there is a checking of your bags and luggage and rooms. But overall the hostel facility is great.
The best thing about chitkara is its infrastructure and maintenance. It's beautiful to the eyes as there are very less universities in India which are built this pretty and modern. There are clubs you can be a member of, but they aren't very much active. Not everyone is given a chance if you're in the club. There is no such thing as extra curriculum here. There aren't much active sports teams or much events or opportunities in this aspect. So if you're someone who wants extra activities then this is not the place for you.

Read Full ReviewIf you’re willing to join Punjab campus with 56 marks in JEE Mains and 70% in CBSE boards, it would be extremely difficult.
It would be best for you to go to the Baddi campus with that much score. Equal opportunities are provided to students of both the campus. People tend to believe in the notion that Punjab campus is superior to Baddi campus as the former was established first. However, this is not true. It all comes down to your learning skills. The better you are, the more options you are provided to choose from and to polish your coding skills.
To know more about the admission you can get in contact with the institute.
Chitkara and Chandigarh University are great options for doing a B.Tech. For MBA, you should not consider these institutes. After completing your degree from these institutes, you won’t be able to get decent job options, unless you have a master’s degree from reputed universities.
Try to get into Govt. colleges. If you are an engineer, try to improve your skills, make projects, and try to get jobs at MNCs. If you are from a general background, it’s better to prepare for CAT.
Comparably, Chitkara Panjab is better than Chitkara Himachal. It offers better academics and the faculties are more experienced. Chitkara Panjab has a vibrant campus. It is located near two major cities, Patiala and Chandigarh.
Both campuses, i.e. Panjab and Himachal fall under the same system and management. The placement opportunities are the same for both campuses.
When it comes to placement, Chandigarh University is far ahead then Chitkara and LPU. According to my friends at Chandigarh University, it provides better opportunities during placements also. The scope of higher education is also good.

Chandigarh University has a different department set especially for the placement of the students and when a university institutes such a separate department that will focus only on the placement ratio then it’s hard to compete with it.
One of my friends studied at Chandigarh University (CU). According to him, CSE at CU is really good compared to other colleges of its level.
CSE here is mainly popular for its placements. More than 100 companies participate in their placement program.

They also have experienced faculty and management policies. They have also improved their hostel facilities and campus environment. All in all CU is a really good option for pursuing CSE.
In terms of placements, Chandigarh University is better than the other universities mentioned. During Chandigarh University placement 2022, 757 recruiters made more than 7500 placement offers.
Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.
Institute | Average CTC (in INR) |
Chitkara University | 7 LPA |
Thapar University | 6-7 LPA |
CGC Landran | 7.50 LPA |
Chandigarh University | 8 LPA |
Lovely Professional University | 7 LPA |
CU has better recruiters, better packages, and better alumni ratings.
My friend is an MA Psychology student at Chandigarh University. In her opinion, it is one of the best MA courses offered in India. She justified her opinion through a number of reasons some of which I have listed below
Overall, the quality of teaching is a major USP that students consider while choosing this university.
Chandigarh University is the best for MBA, among these. it is well-recognized in the industry. Many reputed companies collaborated with the university to offer industry-sponsored courses and lab facilities.
The flexible curriculum, brilliant faculty, and intense industry interface make CU rank ahead of other B-Schools in the region.
CGC Landran is a part of Chandigarh University whereas Chitkara University is a separate University. CGC Landran being part of Chandigarh University is a good college but it is recommended to study at the main campus as it will have better or equal facilities. But the choice also depends upon the cost of education and other important factors. All the institute takes admission through JEE Mains.
Ranking:
CGC Landran is ranked 52 for BTech by Chronicle 2019.
Chandigarh University is ranked 84 for BTech by NIRF 2020.
Chitkara University is ranked 151 among the top universities of India by NIRF 2020.
Annual fee:
CGC Landran has an annual CSE/IT B. tech fee of INR 96,000 and Chitkara University has INR 97,000 whereas Chandigarh University has an annual fee of INR 1.68 lakhs for these branches.
Infrastructure:
Chandigarh University has the best infrastructure and largest campus among the three. All three institutes are equally good academically. Chandigarh University having better infrastructure among three offers excellent teaching, practical and library facilities. Chandigarh University also has one of the best fests in whole north India.
Placement:
Each of the colleges was visited by top recruited companies all over the world during the 2018-19 session.
Chitkara University saw 85% placement with 13.5 LPA max package and 4.5 LPA as the average package.
Whereas CGC Landran and CU both had observed 100% placement for the branches. The maximum package in both the colleges was the same 35 LPA.
CU has the highest average package among these three with 5 LPA whereas CGC Landran has the lowest average with 3.5 LPA.
Chandigarh University has a better record in all the above parameters discussed. CGC Landran is a cost-effective college which offers best if compared to Chitkara University Himachal Campus. Between CU and CGC, CU is the main campus and it offers better facilities. But the final choice still will lie with prospective students as factors such as connectivity from home and cost of attendance should also be taken into consideration before joining.
