CGC Landran is a part of Chandigarh University whereas Chitkara University is a separate University. CGC Landran being part of Chandigarh University is a good college but it is recommended to study at the main campus as it will have better or equal facilities. But the choice also depends upon the cost of education and other important factors. All the institute takes admission through JEE Mains.

Ranking:

  • CGC Landran is ranked 52 for BTech by Chronicle 2019.

  • Chandigarh University is ranked 84 for BTech by NIRF 2020.

  • Chitkara University is ranked 151 among the top universities of India by NIRF 2020.

Annual fee:

CGC Landran has an annual CSE/IT B. tech fee of INR 96,000 and Chitkara University has INR 97,000 whereas Chandigarh University has an annual fee of INR 1.68 lakhs for these branches.

Infrastructure:

Chandigarh University has the best infrastructure and largest campus among the three. All three institutes are equally good academically. Chandigarh University having better infrastructure among three offers excellent teaching, practical and library facilities. Chandigarh University also has one of the best fests in whole north India.

Placement:

Each of the colleges was visited by top recruited companies all over the world during the 2018-19 session.

  • Chitkara University saw 85% placement with 13.5 LPA max package and 4.5 LPA as the average package.

  • Whereas CGC Landran and CU both had observed 100% placement for the branches. The maximum package in both the colleges was the same 35 LPA.

  • CU has the highest average package among these three with 5 LPA whereas CGC Landran has the lowest average with 3.5 LPA.

Chandigarh University has a better record in all the above parameters discussed. CGC Landran is a cost-effective college which offers best if compared to Chitkara University Himachal Campus. Between CU and CGC, CU is the main campus and it offers better facilities. But the final choice still will lie with prospective students as factors such as connectivity from home and cost of attendance should also be taken into consideration before joining.
