Course Details

Faculty Development Program (FDP) is an initiative of IIM Shillong. IIM Shillong being one of the tier 1 B Schools, not only focuses on the development of its students but also its faculty. The FDP program mainly focuses on the developments and updates in the teaching sector and how the faculty can prepare their classes based on case studies and a lot more. It is a 3-week program with 2- week program on Research, Learning and Teaching and the last week on the chosen specialisation. The specializations offered are Human Resources, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and Operations Management.

IIM Shillong FDP Eligibility

Teachers, researchers and faculty members of various management institutes, degree colleges, university departments, or professional staff training institutes are eligible to register and be a part of the three weeks FDP Program of IIM Shillong.

IIM Shillong FDP Selection Criteria

The program is designed in a way to accommodate a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 24 participants. The admissions are on a first come, first serve basis.

IIM Shillong FDP Course Details

The course is designed in two phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2.

The Phase 1 consists of mainly teaching methods and learning techniques.
Phase 2 consists of one week of specialisation in the chosen subject.

Ques. Are there any arrangements for accomodation for the teachers enrolled for the FDP Program?

Ans. IIM Shillong arranges for free accomodations along with breakfast, dinner, lunch, tea and snacks, and also some local sightseeing.

Ques. What is the content of the Human Resource specialisation of Phase 2?

Ans. The Human Resource specialisation of Phase 2 mainly focuses on Human Resource Assets and Analytics.

Ques. What if one can only attend the prior 2 weeks and not the third week of specialisation?

Ans. If one can only attend the prior 2 weeks and not the third week of specialisation due to the limited seats reason, the person will be considered for the 2 weeks training program and accordingly the fees shall be refunded.

Ques. Is there any concession in the fees of the program?

Ans. There is a 10% fees concession if there are 3 or more members from the same institute attending the program.

Ques. Does the fees cover any medical emergency?

Ans. The fees do not cover medical or any type of additional expense.
