Course Description

IIT Indore M.Sc admission 2024 will be based on the IIT JAM scores followed by counseling. For IIT Indore Msc Admissions, IIT JAM Registrations are over and the admit card will be released on January 08, 2024.

IIT Indore offers a 2-year duration MSc programse in specializations such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Astronomy, Physics and Mathematics. The institute allows MSc admission based on the scores secured in the IIT JAM exam. IIT Indore MSc cutoff overall for the general category remained at 30-495 mark .

IIT Indore MSc program is available in full-time mode. The total seat intake of this program is 110wherease the Physics, and Chemistry department has 30 seats to offer. The institute charges an amount of Rs. 1.15 Lakhs for the year-round which includes tuition fees, hostel charg,es and examination fees. Course Details of IIT Indore M.Sc

IIT Indore MSc is a course completed in two years full-time. Overall, the course titles include Quantum Mechanics, Modern Techniques In Inorganic Chemistry, and Thermodynamics. Molecular Spectroscopy, MSc Research Projects, and many interesting ones that are promising to students.

In the first semester, the total credits you can earn is 15. You can take up English communication Skills as an additional course which brings credits to 18.
First-year, semester two, you can gain 17 credits.
In the second year, you can earn 18 credits each semester, bringing the minimum number of credits earned during the entire program to 68.
Students can also request the conversion from MSc to MSc + Ph.D. dual degree after qualifying through potential evaluation.
Remember core courses are compulsory, and you can take Ph.D. seminar courses during the spring or Autumn Semester as advised by the faculty advisor.
Elective courses are available for the discipline of Chemistry. Please note that additional elective courses can be taken only by students with MSc qualifications.

Additional Information of IIT Indore M.Sc

Duration: Two years full-time

Course Schedule: Contact hours of the particular course depend on each semester.

End-Term Evaluation: It is done in a standard manner as per the requirements fulfilled for MSc award.

Attendance Requirements: Marks for attendance solely depend on the course coordinator. Students with 80% or above will get a full ten marks. 50 to 80 percent, on the other hand, have their attendance score calculated as the ratio of their attendance percentage. If the attendance is less than 50% (suppose your attendance is 49%, it is up to the coordinator to decide), students will not appear for the end-semester exam. Also, their grades will be downgraded to XX, and they have to retake the course.

Financial Assistance: For students who need to achieve their dreams, Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) scholarship is popularly available for MSc courses. The scholarship is released considering the factors like CGPA acquired by students in each semester. In every batch, approximately 20% to 25% of students will be considered for the MCM scholarship.

To attain the scholarship, a student’s family income must not exceed Rs 5 lakhs in the General category and eight lakhs in OBC. For more details, visit the college.

Reservation Criteria: According to the IIT JAM brochure released this year, the institute offers 2,844 seats, increasing from last year (2445 seats). Seats are allotted to eligible candidates from both reserved (SC/ST/PWD/OBC) and unreserved categories. Reserved category candidates can expect a 5% relaxation. In my opinion, IIT Indore is much better as compared it IIT Patna. You will also find a really good functional programming group at IIT Indore. It also has a number of ACM ICPC contests that are enriched into you right from your junior year. The senior-junior interaction is also pretty great considering CSE. Here is some more information regarding IIT Indore: Location: IIT Indore is based in the industrial capital of Madhya Pradesh. You will find a number of IT companies including those like TCS and Infosys which are building large campuses in Indore. The food here is really good too. CSE Department: The department at IIT Indore is excellent. It has helped students partake in many worldwide coding competitions and they have qualified thrice for the finals in ACM ICPC. This clearly proves how good the coding culture at the department is. Campus: With an area of 510 acres, you will find that the campus has all the necessary infrastructure and there will be no dearth of necessities there. IIT Patna has a hundred percent placement in the CSE branch with an average package of 16.76 LPA. The highest package received was around 40 LPA (on-campus). You should choose the branch you are more interested in and the institute which offers the batter program for that branch. Metallurgical engineering is a sub-branch of Mechanical engineering, whereas Civil is a core branch and have more option for higher studies. However, the employment opportunities for both branches are almost the same. NIRF ranked IIT Bhubaneswar 17th in the engineering category. The department of Civil Engineering, the Scchool of Infrastructure at IIT Bhubaneswar have 8 laboratories well-equipped with modern facilities to carry out academic projects and research works. In 2019 the JEE Advanced closing cutoff for Civil Engineering was 7054-14844. According to the placement statistics, 89% of civil engineering students got placements in 2019.
