Course Details

IIM Bangalore PGPEM is a 2-year weekend program, designed for working professionals. Anyone who has completed a bachelor’s degree and holds a minimum of 4 years of work experience in any industry is eligible to apply for this program. IIM Bangalore PGPEM fee is INR 20,11,000.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM admission is through CAT/GMAT/ GRE/ IIMB Test scores, followed by a Writing Ability Test and a Personal Interview. IIM Bangalore PGPEM final selection is based on multiple factors that could include academic qualifications, work experience, social sensitivity, performance in PI and WAT, etc.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Admission Process & Criteria for 2024

Aspirants require a valid CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMB Test score to be eligible for admission.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview (online/offline) and a Written Ability Test.
The interview panel comprises 2 faculty members, who will evaluate each candidate's performance based on the quality of experience/diversity, leadership qualities, social sensitivity, and multifacetedness.
The final selection will be based on the prior academic performance, duration of work experience, quality of work experience, social sensitivity, and performance in the interview and the Writing Ability Test.
IIMB offers reservations to EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD in accordance with the law.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Application Process

Candidates who wish to apply for IIM Bangalore PGPEM, have to visit iimberpsrv.iimb.ernet.in/prod/sfonlapp.home#. Click on the desired course and apply online along with the following list of documents. The application fee for IIMB PGPEM is INR 1500/- which is to be paid online.

Candidates will be required to produce the following as evidence of work experience for each instance of employment claimed by the candidate

CAT: Aspirants applying through CAT need to mention in CAT 2023 application form that they want to apply for PGPEM
IIMB Test: Aspirants can also apply through IIM Bangalore Test conducted on November 20, 2023; December 18, 2023 and February 05, 2024. The test fee of INR 1,000/- is to be paid additional along with the application fee. In the application form of IIM B Test, candidates need to specify that they wish to apply for PGPEM.

NOTE: Submission of reference is mandatory. Candidates need to provide details (email id & contact details) of two persons as referees (preferably one from the current employer or from an individual who is in a position to evaluate your job performance) in the on-line application.

Ques. Is IIM Bangalore PGPEM equivalent to MBA?

Ans. PGPEM and MBA are both management courses, but it is designed for a different set of people. The PGPEM program is designed for executives with work experience and focuses on mid-career and senior executives. Whereas the MBA program focuses on professionals at the entry-level.

Ques. What type of work experience is required to get admission to IIM Bangalore PGPEM?

Ans. During the PGPEM interview, the panelists can assess the quality of the work experience. They could look for managerial role experiences, which may be managing different aspects such as technology, finance, markets, and people.

Ques. What is the minimum CAT/ GMAT/ GRE/ IIMB Test score required to apply for IIM Bangalore PGPEM?

Ans. There is no minimum score to qualify for the PGPEM program. The candidates are required to just have a valid score. IIM Bangalore has a beautiful campus. Life at IIMB Campus is enriching. You will get to meet students from different backgrounds. The campus is full of greenery and there are trees all around the campus. The hostel rooms are spacious. There is a study table, a rotating chair, whiteboard, big almirah, and bed. You can get your room cleaned by making a request on the online port. The washrooms have good facilities and get cleaned every day. The whole campus is wifi enabled. The mess offers breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner. There are different varieties of food. The academics are rigorous and you will have to manage your time efficiently to keep up. Other than academics, there will be various other activities in which you can participate. Overall, you will have a good time on campus.

Honestly speaking, your academic record is average and even a very high percentile might not necessarily be enough to get a call for admission. IIM Bangalore especially focuses a lot on Past Academics. In the initial shortlisting, the 12th and 10th marks are given 15% weightage each which combined is quite a lot. During the final shortlisting, 10th and 12th marks are given 10% weightage each. So the only thing you can do is Work really hard and score a very high CAT percentile, something around 99.5+ Target other IIMs Performance during the Personal Interview You can go for other top B Schools like FMS and XLRI who give very little importance to past academics.
