Chitkara University was established in 2008 under the UGC act of 1956. The University is managed by Chitkara Educational Trust. It is a NAAC-accredited Government -recognized University. It has two schools under its management namely – Chitkara School of Engineering and Technology, Chitkara and School of Hospitality Management.

Chitkara University offers BE, ME and Ph.D. programs in various specializations. The University also offers 3-year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.

The minimum eligibility for BE admission is a candidate must have passed10+2 with at least 60% marks.
Admission to BE is done on the basis of JEE Main.
The candidate seeking admission for the ME course must have done BE/B.Tech. with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Selection to M.Tech. is done on the basis of scores obtained in an entrance test and performance in a personal interview, both which will be conducted by the University.
For Ph.D., the candidate must be a postgraduate in relevant field with minimum 60% marks or equivalent accepted by the University.
B.Tech candidates with CPI of 8.0 or 75% marks (CPI-7.0 for IIT) can also apply for the Ph.D. program in respective fields.
The admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the Ph.D. Entrance Exam and a Personal Interview conducted by the University.

Chitkara University BE Admission 2023

The Chitkara University offers BE course in 3 specializations. The courses are also offered through lateral-entry admission program for Diploma holders. The BE courses are offered in the Chitkara School of Engineering and Technology.

The basic eligibility for BE course is a candidate must have passed 10+2 examinations with minimum 60% marks and 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board or equivalent accepted by the University. For B.E (lateral-entry) admission, the candidate must have a Diploma in Engineering granted by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government with minimum 60% marks.

The University conducts counseling for all the eligible candidates to secure admission for B.E courses. Selection is done on the basis of JEE Main scores. The counseling date will be announced after the declaration of JEE-Main result.

Key Points:

Only candidates born on or after October 01, 1996 can apply for the course.

Chitkara University offers the Ph.D. program in four disciplines. Life At Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh

Remarks:

The Chitkara University (both Punjab and Himachal pradesh Campus) give admission in Bachelor Of Engineering courses on the basis of JEE-Mains marks + student need to score at least 60% marks individually in Phy, Chem, Maths in class 12th. If a student has an aggregate of 60% in Phy, Chem, and Maths he/she is also eligible if they dont have 60% individual marks in Phy, Chem, or Maths. In Chitkara University all admissions are merit-based, so there is no management quota. You can visit their official website to apply.

Comparably, Chitkara Panjab is better than Chitkara Himachal. It offers better academics and the faculties are more experienced. Chitkara Panjab has a vibrant campus. It is located near two major cities, Patiala and Chandigarh.

Both campuses, i.e. Panjab and Himachal fall under the same system and management. The placement opportunities are the same for both campuses.

Among Galgotias University and Chitkara University, the former is definitely the better option for a CSE program. For CSE, ECE and EE, Galgotias is best. Also, most companies that visit the campus for placement drives are for these branches. So, choosing Galgotias will be better for you.

Here is a brief comparison of the two universities, for their CSE branch.

Galgotias provide some specialization courses for CS.
The student crowd will be a little better at Chitkara since they take admission through JEE Mains and UPSEE. Whereas, at Galgotias, admission is based on GEEE score. GEEE is less competitive as compared to JEE Mains.
Based on the reviews, I got from my friends at both the institutes I will say you will experience a better faculty base at Galgotias.
