The NIE Institute of Technology, also referred to as NIEIT, was founded in 2008 and is situated in Mysuru, the Heritage City of Karnataka. Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, NIEIT is affiliated with VTU, Belagavi. NIEIT occupies a sprawling 25 acres of lush green campus and is encircled by major industrial conglomerates, including Infosys, BEML, L&T, and Skanray. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) granted NIEIT autonomous status in 2007. NIEIT is one of the 14 colleges recognized by the MHRD. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has granted Tier-1 accreditation to the National Institute of Engineering (NIE).

NIEIT offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. North Campus provides courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. South Campus offers Courses in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications, and Civil Engineering. There are also a limited number of seats available under the Management Quota. The B.E. program at NIEIT has seven different specializations available. Candidates need to appear for the CET, COMEDK, and JEE entrance exams to be admitted into the program. The CET admission process for NIEIT is as follows:

How to apply for CET?

  1. Candidates have to apply online for CET.
  2. Information Bulletin can be downloaded from the Website http://kea.kar.nic.in
  3. Online submission of the Application Form can be done by accessing the KEA Website
  4. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on the KEA Website

Note: Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

Admission to MCA and M.Tech. programs are through the Karnataka PGCET conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Admissions to PhD programs are made following Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) guidelines. Applications are notified by VTU twice a year, in August and January. For admission to the M.Sc. (Engineering) by Research and Doctoral Program, both full-time and part-time, eligible applicants should get in touch with the advisor in the relevant fields.
