IIFT, SP Jain, XLRI, and FMS all four institutes are reputed and counted among the top B-Schools in India. For these institutes, your preference order should be as follows.
FMS>IIFT>XLRI>SP Jain
This ranking is based on different parameters such as academics, placements, ranking, faculties, student crowd, etc. FMS offers the best ROI. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC for the institute is INR 32.4 LPA. While FMS Delhi fees are around INR 1.92 Lakhs.
Among all the campuses, IIFT Delhi is the best option. The Delhi campus is the oldest and offers better facilities. In terms of academics and placements, there is no such difference between different IIFT campuses. Students from all three campuses get equal opportunities. But, due to the location advantage of the Delhi campus, it's easier to get placements, internships, and projects. During IIFT Delhi placements 2022, the median CTC offered was INR 24 LPA. Major MNCs like Accenture, Deloitte, Raymond, TCS, etc. visit the IIFT placements.
Considering all factors like faculty, placements, location, students, alumni, etc. IIFT is a good option for pursuing an MBA. For International Business, it is the best among all the institutes mentioned here.
IIFT offers decent academics. For the MBA in International business, the first year is common for all students. After the summer semester, students can choose their specializations. You can choose Trade, Finance or Marketing.
IIFT has a great placement record. In 2021, IIFT Delhi placements had an average CTC of INR 25.16 LPA. While IIFT Kolkata average package for 2022 was INR 20 LPA.
DMS and IIM Shillong are nowhere near the level of IIFT, Delhi. A more accurate comparison for IIFT would be with MDI, SP Jain, or IMT.
IIM Shillong will be more valuable only to those who are oblivious to the IIM label. The college's remote location and unusual selection criteria are significant impediments to its growth. DMS, on the other hand, has an advantage due to the fees, but it is still not in the same league. A more level playing field would be with SJMSOM and IIT Bombay.
So, if you want the IIM tag, go with IIM Shillong, but keep in mind that with new IIMs opening every year, that tag is becoming diluted, and go with DMS only if fees are a major criterion. Just in terms of brand value, IIFT is far superior to either of them, with its 50-year heritage, strong alumni, central location, and strong differentiation.
In terms of faculty, crowd, and placements, IIFT Delhi and FMS are comparable and better than the Delhi School of Economics.
IIFT is located above FMS in the campus hostel in terms of infrastructure. In terms of ROI, FMS is far ahead of IIFT because the course fee is significantly lower with nearly identical placement prospects.
During FMS Delhi placements 2022, the highest package offered was INR 58 LPA. Prior to 2020 and 2021, the highest packages offered during FMS Delhi placements were INR 58.6 LPA and INR 58.8 LPA, respectively. In 2022, the average package offered by IIFT during MBA (IB) placements was INR 25.16 LPA. The average package at the Delhi School of Economics is INR 13.94 LPA, the highest package is INR 32 LPA, and the median package is INR 12.50 LPA for MBA, as per 2022 placement reports.
Among these three options, XLRI (HRM) is best. It is the best Human Resources program in the country. The academics and placement opportunities offered are top-notch. XLRI placements 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 30.7 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 60+ LPA.
XLRI offers an enviable learning experience. Your classmates, seniors, and juniors are some of the most talented people you will meet. Being one of the oldest B-School in the country, the XLRI brand name is widely reputed in the industry.
If you have a percentage in the 50s or 60s in UG and no work experience, you must score above the 98%ile with an excellent interview.
You will receive the IIFT. The percentage of these people is very low, but it is possible if you achieve a high percentile. If you perform well in the entrance exam (score 3-4 marks above the cut-off) and the admission process (GD-PI and WAT), a UG score (at least above 65) should not be a problem. All you have to do is perform well in the GDPI Process and give them a reason to choose you.
