JEE Main 2023 Examination Schedule
JEE Main 2023 is going to be conducted in two-shift timing for both January and April sessions.
- JEE Main First Shift/ Forenoon Session Timings- 9 AM to 12 PM.
- JEE Main Second Shift/ Afternoon Session Timings- 3 PM to 6 PM.

JEE Main 2023 Counselling is held by different authorities for different colleges. These include-

JEE Main 2023 Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates must follow JEE Main 2023 Exam Day Guidelines released by NTA, to avoid any chaos at JEE Main 2023 exam centre:
- You should reach the exam centre well in advance of the start of the exam.
- You are requested to visit the exam centre location once prior to the exam to avoid chaos.
- Candidates should bring all the necessary items which need to be carried to the exam centre.
- Candidates should not bring any prohibited items along with them at the exam centres
- Candidates must not indulge in any unfair means with regard to the exam.
- You should take your seat immediately at the opening of the examination hall. If you do not report on time, you may miss some of the general instructions that may be announced in the examination hall.
- You would not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the commencement of the examination. Login and read all the instructions carefully.
- You should show your Admit Card on demand. If you do not possess the Admit Card, you would not be permitted to write the examination.
- You shall not leave your seat or Examination Room until the full duration of the paper.
- Pen/ Pencil and blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of the sheet and must return the sheets and Admit Card to the Invigilator, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room.
- Candidates appearing for Aptitude Test Paper-II must bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.
- You are also not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written materials, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other device; except the Admit Card, identity proof, document as required inside the Examination Hall. If you are found in possession of any of the above items, it will be treated as resorting to unfair means and your current examination will be cancelled, you will be debarred for future examination(s) & the equipment will be seized.
JEE Main 2023- Guidelines for Scribes
- The candidates with a disability should fill in the type and percentages of disability correctly in the online JEE Main Application Form. Any incorrect information can affect their candidature.
- Only the candidates, who have 40% or more disability, will be provided Scribe/Reader at the request of the candidate.
- The candidates will have the choice of opting for their own scribe/reader or submitting a request for one to the center superintendent.
- After the request of the candidate, the center superintendent will identify the scribe/reader students for the candidate. This is only the task of the center superintendent to choose a scribe for the candidate.
- However, if a candidate requests to meet the scribe before exam, they would be allowed to meet the scribe only a day before the examination to verify whether the scribe is suitable or not.
- One other provision is that 1 hour (60 minutes) compensatory time will be allowed to the candidates with 40% or more disability irrespective of the fact they are availing the facility of a scribe/reader.

Prepare in such a way that you are appearing for JEE Advanced. This is because the course and structure of Advanced are such that once you are ready to clear that, you can clear every other exam too. Ans. NCERT books can help a lot to prepare for JEE Mains Chemistry. But it is not sufficient. Inorganic Chemistry is the most scoring part. And for this section, NCERT books are a must. In past years there were questions directly from NCERT. But read your class notes and textbooks as well. For Physical and Inorganic Chemistry, NCERT isn’t enough. Ans. Many seem to believe NTA has ruined JEE Main. There had been controversies regarding the percentile system. Students with higher scores got lower percentile and vice versa. Ans. NCERT books are a good place to start the preparation for Organic Chemistry. But you shouldn’t rely on NCERT solely. Once you are through NCERT books, study standard reference books such as O.P. Tandon & A.K. Virmani, and Himanshu Pandey. Organic Chemistry is extensive and NCERT books usually cover only the basic formulas.
