XLRI is a really good institute to go for. The ethos, culture, and diversity are all enigmatic. One of my friends studying there suggests that you can learn and grow simultaneously.

It is not a disadvantage to not be an engineer. A consulting career requires more analytical ability, business awareness, and thought process.
All you have to do is work a little harder to achieve your goals. So, go ahead and start preparing for your career and you'll make it. Ultimately your performance will matter rather than being an IT or a non-IT background.
One of my friends at XLRI said that you should know the facts before diving into any conclusion and making a decision. According to him, GMP is not a good course. It has its own set of flaws.

Apart from Mr. Venu Gopal in marketing, and Mr. Ajith J Kuman in the operations, neither of the faculty members are industry inclined. Thus, choose wisely before making a decision.
Yes, the Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics (PGPBA) offered by IIM Bangalore is good. The program can be considered a subdivision of the PGP program and offers similar academics and placements.
The courses in Term-1 and Term-2 are common for PGP and PGPBA. From Term-3, PGPBA follows a well-designed analytics curriculum. Compared to PGP, the curriculum of PGPBA include more Mathematics. The mandatory subjects of PGPBA are offered as electives for PGP.
IIM Bangalore designed the PGPBA program for accumulating the growing demand for efficient professionals in the field of Business Analytics. IIM Bangalore placement highlights indicate that PGPBA students mostly get recruited in Banks, E-Commerce, and Consulting sectors.
Yes, the PGDBA courses offered by IIT, ISI, and IIM are definitely worth the investment. You get to have the best of the 3 Institutes:
ISI: It’s rigorous statistics
IIT: Machine learning and CS courses
IIM: Management (mainly finance)
The combination of all three will not go in vain. Apart from these other benefits you will be getting are
Guidance from the best professors in India
Study with people from diverse backgrounds
Experience the culture and academic style of 3 institutes
Such a diverse experience shall make you open to multiple perspectives. You can see your role in society and how you can mold yourself for the better to contribute the most to it.
As far as the placements are concerned, you can voice your preferences. All the 3 institutes offer the best job prospects and placement opportunities and that is something you should not worry about.
In the end, it all depends on your own hard work and determination whether you are willing to avail the opportunities that lie in front of you.
IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference
The courses have been arranged preference-wise so will make it easy for you to choose one.
The PGDBA program offers a rare opportunity for students to get a blend of academic patterns from 3 institutes (IIT, ISI, and IIM).
Test pattern: 3 hours and 50 questions
Marking scheme: 3 marks for every question, negative marking (-1)
Syllabus:
VERBAL ABILITY: Reading & Comprehension; Grammar/correction of sentences.
LOGICAL REASONING: Logical connectives, Statements and Conclusions, Matching and sequences.
DATA INTERPRETATION AND DATA VISUALIZATION: Data driven questions (pie charts, graphs, trends).
QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE: Sets, combinatorics, Algebra (solutions of quadratic equations, inequalities, simultaneous linear equations, binomial theorem, series, AP, GP, HP, matrices), Euclidean geometry, Coordinate geometry (lines, circles, conic sections), Trigonometry (triangles, trigonometric identities, heights, and distances), Calculus (functions, limits, continuity, derivative, maxima & minima, methods of integration, evaluation of areas using integration).
The level of difficulty of these questions is that of class 12th.
My cousin is in XLRI's PGDM program and he told me that his work experience in China helped him a lot as they value international experience. If you've volunteered with NGOs or did any form of social service in the past, then that'll definitely count.
Overall, a strong application with some essays and recommendation letters will raise your chances of admission. You should be able to prove to them that what you do is extraordinary, that you are a natural leader. Once you've prepared your application, get a grammar check done by your friends with good English language skills. Keep working on your application.
XLRI will regard you highly if you are aware of India’s socio-economic issues and form your answers from an inclusive point of social welfare.
Be updated on the deadlines. Wait for the list to come out. Submit the essays and video. I am sure you'll get a call for GD and a personal interview. The difficulty arises from this point and you'll be expected to have prepared extremely well for the interview.
The ranking of LBSIM is not that great as it doesn't appear on the list of top 10 business management institutes of India. But if you want to do PGDM from this college, then go for PGDM finance as this domain comes in the list of the top 10 careers.
The future of PGDM finance is very good and if you had commerce during your graduation, then it will get very easy to understand the concepts and complete your syllabus, but if you aren't from a commerce background, then it can be difficult for you to cope up with the syllabus.
The placement opportunities of LBSIM are very good as the placement records are 100% and around 96 companies visit the campus for interviews.
Hence, PGDM finance from LBSIM will be a very good option as this course comes in the list of top 10 courses and the placement records are also very good for this course.
Let me strike off IIM Shillong from your list of preferences. This is because no matter how well it is doing, it can never compare to the older IIMs and the recruiting companies know that very well. Now let’s look at the other two options.
NITIE: This option is a feasible one only if you are interested in Operations. I won’t suggest it for any other domain.
MDI Gurgaon: From the alumni base to location advantage, this B School has it all. Now that you have chosen your college, let’s discuss the domain you will be choosing. I will suggest you go for HR only if you are seriously passionate about it. If you are confused between HR and Operations, the best option is the IM course. The PGP-IM of MDI, Gurgaon is the best International management course in India. Its USP is its generic nature making it possible for you to start your career in any domain like marketing, finance, Consulting, or product management.
The expected fee for IIM Kozhikode PGP batch is Rs. 20,50,000. There is no difference in fee for various categories of students.
However, IIM Kozhikode does provide its students with Scholarships and Financial Assistance:
Merit scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance during one academic year, as determined by their CGPA
IIMK Need Based Scholarship is provided to needy students in the 1st and 2nd years
Central Sector Scholarship for SC and ST Students
Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for students belonging to minority communities
So the fees remain the same for all categories.
