Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, also known as GKCIET was established in the year 2010 at Malda, West Bengal.

It is a centrally funded technical academy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

At present, GKCIET hosts almost 7 different certification courses for those who have passed 10th or equivalent examination. The admissions are based on the All India Entrance Test that is conducted across various centers.

The institute further offers admission to the diploma course. To be eligible for admission, a candidate must either pass 10+2 examination or a relevant certification course from GKCIET. Admissions are concluded purely on the basis of merit in qualifying examination.

GKCIET also offers B.Tech course under 3 specializations. To be eligible for admissions, a candidate must have passed diploma or equivalent course from any recognized academy.

Candidates seeking direct admissions to full time B.Tech programmes, must have passed diploma course from any affiliated and approved institute/polytechnic with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) marks
For vertical entry, a candidate must have passed Diploma course GKCIET with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) marks

Selection Criteria

Admissions are purely made on the basis of merit in All India GKCIET Entrance exam or GET-III for the academic year in case of direct admissions.

For vertical entry, the institute conducts a test and a candidate is required to clear the test for selection.

The entrance exam is mandatory for admissions to candidates belonging to states other than West Bengal.

Eligibility

Candidates seeking direct admissions to full-time diploma programmes, must have passed higher secondary or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from any recognized Board
Minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) in aggregate should be secured in the qualifying examination.
For vertical entry, a candidate must have passed certificate course at GKCIET with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) marks
Must be born before July 1, 2005. There is no upper limit

Admissions are purely made on the basis of merit in the All India GKCIET Entrance exam or GET-II for the academic year in case of direct admissions.
For vertical entry, the institute conducts a test consisting of 2 papers of 100 marks each with equal weightage. A candidate is required to clear the test for selection.

Candidates seeking admissions to full-time certification programmes, must have passed Matric or 10th examination with English, Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects from any recognized Board.

Those with qualifications from Open School are also eligible to apply.

Download the Information Brochure as well as the Application form for the academic year
Fill out the personal details along with educational qualifications in the space provided
Application fee needs to be paid via Demand Draft only in favor of “Accounts Officer, GKCIET, Malda” payable at Malda
Self-attested copies of supporting documents are to be enclosed with the duly filled form
The duly filled application form must be sent to The Chairman, Admission Committee, GKCIET, Malda
Scanned copy of application form as well as a word file of the form must also be sent via e-mail to admission@gkciet.ac.in

Ans. Certification, Degree and Diploma courses at GKCIET are all approved by AICTE. Certificate and Diploma programmes are affiliated to WBSCT & VE & SD, Kolkata while affiliation for technical degree courses is under process with MAKAUT Kolkata.

Ques. Does the college provides transportation and accommodation facility to students?

Ans. Yes, GKCIET has few buses that helps day scholars to travel with ease. The route and fees for the buses can be obtained at the time of admission. There are limited hostel facility within campus with all the basic facilities available to girls. Currently accommodation for boys is not available.
