The majority of the faculties are master's graduates from reputed universities. The exams are according to the university schedule. The exams are according to the university calendar, and the exam level is above average.

The only disadvantage that NIT Calicut has is the weak alumni network due to the newly formed campus as compared to GEC Thrissur.
