Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT) was founded in 1999 by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), which manages a number of educational institutions. GTBIT is a degree-level technical institute accredited by AICTE and affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi. The University Grant Commission of India has recognized it following the UGC Act section 12B. Additionally, it holds an "A Grade" NAAC accreditation. With a large campus, GTBIT is situated in the heart of Rajouri Garden, New Delhi with amenities including laboratories housed in five large buildings.
GTBIT offers its flagship course B.Tech at the UG level in nine specializations. GTBIT provides the B.Tech course in two shifts. GTBIT is working to develop the holistic skills of all the students. Under this initiative, a project named "SPORTS FOR GROWTH AND PROSPERITY"(SGPP) was successfully implemented in collaboration with AICTE under the joint venture of the UKERI program commenced on 23rd November 2011. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GTBIT, established in April 2010, formulates designing, implementing monitoring, measuring, and improving the standards of teaching, evaluation, and research activities.
