You can get any branch at KJ Somaiya with 140 in MH CET 2022, if you have Gujrati minority. But if you are a general category student, getting branches like CSE/IT will be difficult with 140 scores. These are among the most opted branches and KJ Somaiya Cutoff remains above 150-160 for CSE/IT (general category).
Comparing the mechanical branches of SPCE and VJTI, VJTI is the definite winner among the two, considering almost all factors like branding, faculty, peers, placement, etc. Mechanical Engineering is one of the best branches of VJTI.
The points below give a brief overview of VJTI and state several reasons supporting the choice.
Therefore, SPCE is in no way comparable to VJTI, the latter being a much better institute in terms of all considerable factors.
One of my friends studied at Sardar College of Engineering. It has only 3 branches namely Mechanical, Civil and Electrical. According to him, this helps as it gets more focused for the administration to work with the students and give them the best to offer.

The institute has tie-ups with industries nearby that train the students and offer internships. The overall placement, packages, and ambience are great. The Alumni network is not so great but will still prove helpful.
The placement record at Sardar Patel College of Engineering is great. Job profiles that are offered are of- Analytics, Education, Software, Technical, etc. by the recruiting team that shows up in the institute.
You can visit the official website of the college to get a detailed overview on the general procedure of the placements followed by the college. My friend used to be a student of Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai. According to her, the answer to your question depends on a lot of factors. They can be your category of reservation and the branch you aspire to pursue.
If you want to have chances of being considered for admission, your percentage should be above 90%. The cutoff changes every year, though.
My friend got admission in the second year after her diploma percentage was 90%. She was in the OBC category. For getting admission in the SPCE for the electrical stream without any reservations, securing a percentage of 88% to 89% in your diploma course in your final year is mandatory.
Cutoffs for admission can vary from year to year and are often influenced by factors such as the number of applicants, the quality of the applicant pool, and the availability of seats.
It's important to note that admission to engineering colleges in India is typically based on an entrance exam such as JEE Main or other state-level exams. These exams serve as a primary factor in determining the cutoff for admission to specific programs.
It would be recommended to check the official website of SPEC, as well as the websites of the organizations responsible for administering entrance exams in India, for the most up-to-date information on admission cutoffs and requirements for the CSE program at SPEC.
If we compare these colleges based only on brand value and reputation, then COEP is way ahead of SPCE.
But you should prioritize your branch of choice while choosing an institute. Civil and Mechanical engineering, both these are core branches of engineering and have their advantages and disadvantages. Mechanical Engineering will give you exposure to a variety of branches like Automobile, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Thermal, etc. If you are genuinely interested in Mechanical Engineering, you can go to Sardar Patel College of Engineering. They have a good faculty base for the branch.
If you are flexible regarding your branch choice, you can choose COEP Civil. The institute offers a branch change option after completion of the first year too.
My friend from school used to be a student of Sardar Patel College of Engineering and he had an amazing time there as a student.
Hope this helps.
