Established in 1960, the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad (GECA) is an AICTE- approved autonomous government institution. The faculty consists of 79 members, including 23 PhD holders, whose research papers have been published in recognized journals.
The institute offers six specializations under the B.Tech course with a total intake of 360. To be eligible, a candidate should have passed 10+2 or have a diploma in Engineering. They also need to have a valid MH-CET score for selection.
Under the M.Tech course, GECA invites applicants for eight specializations. To be eligible, a candidate should have a B.Tech degree in the relevant field, in addition to passing the GATE.
The institute also offers MCA and PhD courses. For the MCA course, candidates need to have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level and taken the MH MCA-CET; PhD candidates need to have a master’s degree in the relevant field; they also must take the GECA CET.
The institute enjoys an active placement rate. The highest package that has been offered is 700,000 INR per year. In 2019, 151 students were placed among companies of the likes of Tata, Siemens, Reliance, and so on.
