What I Liked

The faculty at CMRCET are distinguished by their exceptional experience and expertise in their fields,allowing them to provide personalized guidance and mentorship to students.By fostering critical thinking,innovation, and creativity,they empowerment
Vibrant Campus Life: The campus is vibrant and engaging, with numerous clubs, societies, and events that foster social interactions,skill development,and networking opportunities.I enjoyed participating in cultural festivals,tech fests,sports events.
The placement cell at CMRCET is highly effective,with strong industry connections and a dedicated team.They provide comprehensive training,resume building,interview preparation,and careerguidance,ensuring students are job-ready.

What I didn’t like

The administrative processes can be slow and cumbersome,with excessive paperwork,and lack of transparency.This sometimes hinders student initiatives,innovation,and progress,causing frustration and demotivation among students and faculty alike.
While the campus is well-maintained, some facilities like labs, libraries, and sports infrastructure require modernization and expansion to accommodate the growing student body. Limited access to cutting-edge technology, and software.
The course curriculum, although rigorous, needs updating to reflect industry trends, emerging technologies, and research-oriented learning. Some subjects feel redundant, and more emphasis on practical applications, and case studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum 7.5/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. Strengths: - Industry-aligned curriculum with practical applications - Covers foundational concepts and emerging trends - Prepares students for real-world applications and further academic pursuits Weaknesses: - Needs more emphasis on hands-on learning and project-based learning - Some courses feel outdated or redundant - Limited exposure to cutting-edge technologies and tools Suggestions for improvement: - Incorporate more practical projects and case studies - Update curriculum to reflect industry advancements - Increase focus on soft skills and interdisciplinary learning Exam frequency and timing: 2 internals and 1 semester-end exam, spaced evenly throughout the semester. Exam difficulty level: Moderate, with some challenging questions that test critical thinking and application.

Why cmr?

What I Liked

The faculty in the college takes care about your study,by alloting mentors to a group of 30 students.
They emcourage in games of you have a talent in playing the particular games.
The events of study that is like hackathon and etc are conducted accordingly.

What I didn’t like

The fests and events cultural are conducted very poorly they need to improve this.
The placements now a days are givem less in our college,how ever that depends on a student capacity.
The faculty takes care until the 1 and half year that is 3rd sem,after that it's your job to take care of your studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our campus the faculty first teaches us the course outcomes and the course objectives.So,we can understand better about what is being taught and for what outcome. The lab records are sometimesade to write without seeing in manuals.This is one of the best thing I have seen as it is very useful in sem lab external examination time.

Which is better, an IT at GRIET or a CSE at CMRCET?

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) provided Information Technology (IT) under the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program. GRIET is ranked 37th in all India and 6th in Telangana in ‘India Private Higher Education Rankings 2019-20’ by Education World. CMR College of Engineering & Technology (CMRCET) offers Computer Science & Engineering under B.Tech degree. It is ranked 251 for BTech by NIRF 2020.

Admissions:

There are 120 seats available for Information Technology specialization under B.Tech.
Students wishing to enroll in either of the courses are required to take the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by the State of Telangana.
70% of the seats are based on the rank assessment of EAMCET and the remaining seats are reserved for management quota in both colleges.
The annual tuition fee is Rs. 1.22 lakh in GRIET and 1.0 lakh in CMRCET.

Placements:

GRIET-

The highest package of GRIET is around 41.6 LPA and the lowest package is approximately 5.05 LPA.

In the year 2018-19, 49 students were hired by prominent corporate companies from the IT department of GRIET and 6 students were selected for an internship with Capgemini.
IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Teach Aspect, Hexagon, Cognizant, Atos Syntel, Larsen Toubro are a few profound companies that visit the GRIET campus annually for IT course placements.

CMRCET-

A total of 137 students of the CSE department were offered jobs at CMRCET.

The highest package was from Duta Software India Pvt Ltd (10 LPA) and the lowest was 1.80 LPA in CSE, CMRCET.
Reliance, Invesco, Infosys, Travel Tripper, Amazon, Zensar, Wipro are some well-known companies that offer placements to students of the CMRCET CSE course.

Choosing which college is better is often challenging. CSE as a course has great scope for programming, developing, networking, and testing in the machine-centric future. IT as a specialization is quite diverse; and job opportunities with network security and data analytics companies as well as government jobs can be easily gained. So choose according to your preference.
