CMR College of Engineering and Technology (CMRCET) was established in 2002 and is funded by MGR Educational Society. Situated in Telangana, the college has been expanding since its inception and currently offers postgraduate and undergraduate programs including B.Tech, M.Tech and MBA.

CMRCET B.Tech Admission 2023

Candidates seeking admission to the full-time B.Tech offered by CMR College of Engineering and Technology course in any of the offered specializations should have passed the Intermediate Examination of the board of intermediate education with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as optional subjects. Students who have passed in any other equivalent examination recognized by the Government of Telangana are eligible for admissions.

Candidates applying for B.Tech course should have qualified in the TS-EAMCET examination, conducted by the Government of Telangana. EAMCET consists of a 3-hour paper with 90 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the engineering field.

There are a total of 160 questions.
The paper consists of MCQs and the test is conducted online.
Each correct answer is worth one mark.

Candidates seeking admission through management quota should either obtain a rank or must have scored a minimum percentage of 50% in Chemistry, Physics, and Maths subject in the intermediate examination of the Board of intermediate education conducted by Government of Telangana or any other equivalent examination.

70% of admissions are based on convenor quota and 30% of the total seats are considered under management quota.
No reservation based or any other concession will be provided under management quota.

CMRCET M.Tech Admission 2023

Candidates admissions to M.Tech program offered by CMRCET should possess a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in the concerned stream. Qualifications equivalent to B.Tech/B.E. degree such as AMIE/AMIETE are also eligible for admission to PG degree. Candidates should also possess a valid GATE score for admissions to the M.Tech program.

Admission of sponsored candidates is carried out on the basis of following conditions:

The number of sponsored candidates should not be more than five in each department and two in each specialization.
Sponsored seats are recognized as supernumerary.
Candidates must be a permanent staff in sponsoring agency for at least 2 years after procuring the qualifying degree.
The sponsoring agency should be established by the Government, a public-sector undertaking or a reputed private agency.

CMRCET MBA Admission 2023

Candidates seeking admission to a two-year MBA program should have passed in a bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks. Candidates should have qualified in the Integrated Common Entrance Examination (ICET), organized by the Telangana State Council of Higher education. The candidates are admitted strictly according to the merit scored in the ICET.

The convenor allows for 70% intake of the students to the MCA program depending on the rank obtained by the students in ICET. The college management allows the admission of the remaining 30% of the students under NRI quota and management quota.

CMRCET Application Process 2023

Interested candidates can apply through online or offline mode. Candidates can apply for the respective entrance examinations through the official website for TSEAMCET/ GATE/ TSICET examination.

For TSEAMCET/ TSICET:

A notification will be released by the state government, following which the application forms will be officially released.
Candidate should log on to the official EAMCET/ ICET website for registration
Candidates must first pay the application fee via online banking/debit or credit card payment, following which they will be given a registration number.
The form must then be duly filled-in with all personal and academic details.
All necessary documents, as well as a recent photograph, should be properly uploaded along with the submitted form.
Candidates must retain a printout of this completed form with them at the time of examination.

For GATE

A notification will be released by the IIT, following which the application forms will be officially released.
The registration link will be available from the official GATE website.
Candidates must submit duly filled-in form, along with uploaded photographs and photocopies of mark sheets.
Online payment of the application fee, generally between INR 100 and INR 500, can be done through net banking.

Which is better, an IT at GRIET or a CSE at CMRCET?

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) provided Information Technology (IT) under the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program. GRIET is ranked 37th in all India and 6th in Telangana in ‘India Private Higher Education Rankings 2019-20’ by Education World. CMR College of Engineering & Technology (CMRCET) offers Computer Science & Engineering under B.Tech degree. It is ranked 251 for BTech by NIRF 2020.

Admissions:

There are 120 seats available for Information Technology specialization under B.Tech.
Students wishing to enroll in either of the courses are required to take the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by the State of Telangana.
70% of the seats are based on the rank assessment of EAMCET and the remaining seats are reserved for management quota in both colleges.
The annual tuition fee is Rs. 1.22 lakh in GRIET and 1.0 lakh in CMRCET.

GRIET-

The highest package of GRIET is around 41.6 LPA and the lowest package is approximately 5.05 LPA.

In the year 2018-19, 49 students were hired by prominent corporate companies from the IT department of GRIET and 6 students were selected for an internship with Capgemini.
IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Teach Aspect, Hexagon, Cognizant, Atos Syntel, Larsen Toubro are a few profound companies that visit the GRIET campus annually for IT course placements.

CMRCET-

A total of 137 students of the CSE department were offered jobs at CMRCET.

The highest package was from Duta Software India Pvt Ltd (10 LPA) and the lowest was 1.80 LPA in CSE, CMRCET.
Reliance, Invesco, Infosys, Travel Tripper, Amazon, Zensar, Wipro are some well-known companies that offer placements to students of the CMRCET CSE course.
