BMS Institute of Technology and Management is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate courses must have completed senior secondary school. The selection procedure is merit based. Candidate must possess an undergraduate degree from a reputed university to register and fill the application forms for the master degree courses.

  • The mode of filling up the application form is online.
  • The application fee for the Karnataka PGCET is INR 650 (INR 500 for the reserved category candidates.
  • If a candidate has a valid GATE score, he/she is exempted from appearing in Karnataka PGCET
  • After filling the application form for the Karnataka PGCET, an application number will be generated
  • The applicant can select only one examination center for the Karnataka PGCET examination. He/she must get the print out of the application form for the admission purpose.
  • The entrance examination for MCA will be of 150 minutes duration.
  • There will be 60 questions in Part A and 20 questions in Part B.
  • For M.Tech, the entrance examination will carry a total of 100 marks.
  • In the KCET examination, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics will carry 60 marks each. There is not negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • The KCET admit card can be downloaded from the website once the notification is issued.
  • Students who have completed MBA/MCA degree through the distance mode are also eligible to apply for the doctoral programs.

The BMS Institute of Technology and Management offers three courses at the postgraduate level in different branches of engineering and technology and computer applications. Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree as a prerequisite to be eligible for admission. The admission to the MCA program is done by an entrance examination conducted by PGCET.

The institute offers doctoral programs both in full-time and part-time. Working candidates willing to pursue research programs are eligible to apply for the part-time mode of Ph.D. programs. Candidate should have a minimum of one year of experience after his/her under graduation as a faculty member in any Engineering College / Polytechnic / University / Deemed university.

Master Of Science M.Sc.(Engg) Engineering He/she should hold a Bachelor’s degree in respective or relevant branch of engineering and technology from a recognized university/institute with an average minimum of 60% marks (50% marks for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying examination.

NRI/FN/PIO candidates can apply for the doctoral programs if they have completed their Master’s and Bachelor’s in English as the instructional medium or have appeared and qualified TOFEL/ELTS.

  • It is mandatory to submit the thesis in English.
  • There is a provision for the students who are pursuing M.Sc.(Engg.) by Research /M.Tech. to switch to the Ph.D. program.

Note: If a candidate is pursuing M.Tech degree and has been able to complete the first three semesters’ syllabus successfully with an average minimum of 70% marks or a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 is eligible to update his/her program to M. Tech. + Ph.D. Integrated Dual Degree Program if the Admission Committee approves.

BMS Admission Registration 2023

The application form can be obtained online through the university website.

  • To fill up the COMEDK application form, candidates must register themselves on the official website.
  • He/she must provide all the necessary personal details.
  • After previewing and ensuring that the details, the candidate will be able to successfully register. He/she will receive credentials (user id and password) for the application form.
  • After using the credentials, the candidate must log in and fill the other details remaining in the application form. At this stage, he/she must also select the course to be pursued.
  • He/she must upload a scanned recent photograph along with the scanned copies of the required documents.
  • The applicant must select three nearby examination centers from the given list.
  • The payment must be done online and it is non-refundable.
  • The application fee is INR 1200 for PCB/PCM students and INR 1500 for PCMB students.
  • After the payment of the application fee, a transaction ID will be displayed which must be noted down for later use.
  • After this is completed, it is compulsory to take a print out of the form for future reference

  • Class XII marksheet and passing certificate

Reservation

The institute follows reservation as per the guidelines issued by the government. To avail admission to a reserved seat, an applicant must be able to produce all the required documents. The institute reserves a fixed number of seats for foreign applicants.

The eligibility of this college depends on our kcet rankings. Everything was online, we just had to submit the neft we had. Reservation ensures you the great colleges and branches available. No improvement is needed yet.

Remarks:

For admission in Bmsit Bengaluru, you need to give comedk for non-Karnataka students, and kcet for Karnataka students. There is a management quota also, prices can be checked on the college website. Eligibility criteria should have passed 12th with more than 45% . One Can apply for a form from the comedk website or the kcet website. The admission process is nice, but counseling should be done on time.

Remarks:

Eligibility of the course is 45% in 12th PCM. You can find the application form and everything related to details on comedk.org. I was a General merit student so no reservation for me for outside Karnataka students. I didn't find any problems during my admission process although counseling takes much longer than expected hope they fix that.

Without a doubt, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is the best among the given options. My brother studies there and here's what he highlights about the college the most.

  • Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is the oldest among the four colleges mentioned. 
  • It is an autonomous college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, so if you're a north Indian, and want to explore a different location, this will be best for you.
  • It has good infrastructural facilities and there's a digital library with a fully enabled wifi campus too.

MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology will be a better option for Computer Science. It offers better academics and placements. The CSE faculty of the institute is comparably better than BMS Institute of Technology. The recent highlights of RIT Bangalore placements show the average CTC for CSE to be around INR 8 LPA. While the highest CTC goes up to INR 25 LPA.

According to one of my seniors, if the parameters of placement and college life are considered then the ranking would be as follows: -

Dayanand Sagar College> B.I.T> BMSIT and RNSIT

My senior is a student of B.I.T and he has also been to Dayanand Sagar College a couple of times for some cultural events. 

  • According to him Dayanand Sagar College has a much better campus among the others mentioned above. 
  • It is an autonomous college so it has its own perks. 
  • Located in Bangalore it gets the advantage of being nearby corporate houses and IT firms. 
  • It will be easier to conduct frequent industry visits, seminars, and internship opportunities.
  • The places nearby have hostels and PGs available for both boys and girls. There are also numerous flats available.

B.I.T is located in V.V Puram and lacks all these facilities. In terms of placement Dayanand Sagar College is at a par with B.I.T however RNSIT and BMSIT both lag behind these institutes in terms of campus life and placement stats, records.

Manipal University Jaipur and BMSIT Bangalore are both excellent universities to pursue engineering in all fields. Manipal University has been ranked as the best private university in India. In the past few years, it has shown a considerable improvement in ranking before topping it in 2019. BMSIT has been ranked at number 169 among all the institutes of India by the NIRF ranking framework. The outlook has ranked it at 51.
