I got into Computer engineering as I was always amazed at how programming works. Being from PCMB, still i had the interest to be an engineer. Student: faculty ratio has a huge difference. Students are around 10000+ approx. And the facilities are good enough with strengths as we have a huge teachers base for each subject. Teachers are well qualified and have passed various tests by the college hiring teams. The teaching methodology followed is based on the ppt prepared by the head of departments. They are very good and approved by the AICTE. Exams come faster than we expect at the presidency. As it's an autonomous University, it follows its timetable. Anyways syllabus is covered on time.

I chose this course because I was always interested in computers. Most faculties are good and have good qualifications like master's and Ph.D., but some are not that good at teaching. Teaching methods are ppt and chalkboard. Mostly you have to do self-study. The exams are timely and predetermined and are fairly easy to pass.

I have a dream and that's to become CEO of Tesla definitely not gonna give up on my dream. I'll try my best to work hard. Faculty are good in number and there are no issues. Just a few faculties are rude and don't understand us students. Most of the faculties have completed their higher studies and other facilities have completed masters and etc. The exams depend on the students who prepare for them. Students whose time pass and waste their time are definitely going to end up failing. The exam system is good. Talking about passing I got no words because nothing can be expected

Presidency University: 23 answered questions

Ques
How is Presidency University, Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Arjun Singh on 17 May 21

Ans
Presidency University, Bangalore doesn’t seem to be a very good option for students, according to most reviews available on the internet. The points below are some key highlights that a candidate needs to know before opting for a degree from Presidency University. Presidency University is a private and autonomous institute, which runs on its own rules. There are some major problems that students have to face if they go out of track in the institute, including year lag in certain cases. There are some good faculties in the university, but the peers inside the class are not so good as to indulge in research-based or other value-added works. There is a strict rule of 75% attendance which creates a lot of heckling. Students failing to complete the attendance quota are given year lag or made to repeat semesters. There are a lot of strict rules in the university, like in schools. Some of them include no spending class hours in the canteen, no roaming around, ID is a must, only formals on weekdays, Rs. 1000 fine for the use of mobile phones, etc. The securities are pretty strict with these rules. The canteen is costly. Even students can’t leave the campus before the day ends, so no way to get good food. The hostel is also not satisfactory in terms of food and its strict rules. No music can be played after 10 PM. Due to the remote location of the university, there is no good place for food. The closest place is 6-8 km away from the campus. This makes the student's life uncomfortable. In terms of education, the institute has some excellent faculties, who help students in every aspect, from teaching to personal problems. They are quite friendly. But, even though having such good faculty, students first need to tolerate the strict rules and be genuinely interested in the subjects. The only good thing about the university is its infrastructure, which is excellent and quite fancy. It is like a deceptive appearance. The overall emphasis of the university is on 75% attendance and 5+CGPA, but not on good quality education and research which is actually necessary. These are a few disadvantages to be very clear that a student faces after stepping into the campus of Presidency University, Bangalore, which makes it not a good choice for engineering.

Ques
Which is better for B.Tech. CSE: Presidency University, Bangalore or CMR University, Bangalore or Christ University Faculty of Engineering, Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Khaled Ahmed on 27 May 21

Ans
One of my friends studying at CMR said it is better to opt for CMR University or Christ University, rather than Presidency University. Mainly due to the excessive strict rules of the latter. Being a student of the Presidency, let me share why it is not apt for you. At the Presidency, there are a lot of rules that students need to strictly follow.  There are no holidays for preparation before exams. The institute believes in classroom study only. Out of an entire batch of over 5000 students, hardly 50-60 students get the chance to participate in sports events. Fee submission is hectic. Only 2 or 3 counters are available.  Attendance should also be maintained. They have a strong and cooperative faculty. Categories Presidency Bangalore CMR University Christ University Course Fee 7.2-12 lakh 7-9.2 lakh 6.3-7.55 lakh Highest CTC 7 LPA 4-6 LPA 13 LPA Average CTC 3 LPA 3.8 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Byju’s, TCS, Mindtree, Reliance, etc. Capgemini, EY, Urban Ladder, Zest Money, etc. ICICI Bank, HSBC, Barclays, American Express, etc. Therefore, for normal category students, CMR University and Christ University are better choices. The Presidency has a decent educational background.

Ques
Which is better for B.Tech. CSE: Presidency University, Bangalore or Christ University Faculty of Engineering, Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Khushi Singhal on 01 Jun 21

Ans
Having friends studying in both colleges makes me able to answer your question. Both colleges have convincing reasons and have been in existence for the longest time.  Christ University offers excellent engineering programs and a highly qualified faculty. They also have an excellent campus. However, based on their online reputation, students are dissatisfied with the programs.  Presidency University, Bangalore, has an advantage in this regard. The former students have nothing but positive things to say about the faculty. They are cooperative and helpful. The curriculum is always completed on time, giving students enough time to prepare for exams and assignments. It also has some of the best classrooms in the country, all of which are equipped with digital technology for enhanced learning.  Categories CSE at Presidency University  CSE at Christ University  Course Fee 10.00 lakh 7.55 lakh Placement Percentage 90-100% 40-50% Highest CTC 16 LPA 17 Average CTC 3.1 LPA 6-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, Bosch, Berger, Cease Fire, etc. Mercedes, Tech Mahindra, Bosch, Infosys, etc. Hence, Presidency University is superior to Christ University Faculty of Engineering for B.Tech.

Ques
Is it easy to score 95%+ at Presidency University, Bangalore for a BTech in CSE in all semesters and also do many projects, competitions, hackathons, internships, research publications, and startups?

● Top Answer By Vaishali Khanna on 17 Jun 21

Ans
In terms of percentile, you can surely score 99%+. There will always be a conventional topper from every batch even if everyone performs poorly in their academics. You will find many students securing a 10/10 CGPA from good institutes as they follow relative grading. If someone secures 60/150 while most of their classmates are struggling to score even 30, the professor could decide to give them an ‘A’ which is not even similar to scoring 100% marks. But, in absolute terms, no, you can’t imagine someone scoring about 95% in almost every semester they appeared as it will directly imply the college holds a very low bar for evaluation. The Presidency University, Bangalore gives marks for showing up and just for filling up the pages in exams. Thus it is not such a big problem.

Ques
Is Presidency University in Bangalore nice or not?

● Top Answer By Shubham Chandola on 08 Jun 21

Ans
My friend and I studied at the Presidency University in Bangalore in 2018. It is a very good university for most of the programs. Of course, you'd find some negative criticism depending on subjective opinion, such as the few complaints about the strict management, however, it is a good thing if the management is a bit disciplined. Some of its highlights are as follows- It has a huge campus of 64 acres and top-notch amenities with brilliant faculty. Most students tend to form a good opinion of it all. Another factor that helps the university to excel, is its placements. It has a 100% placement rate, and the placement director, Mr. Jasjit Singh Mahon is the bright star guiding the whole process. The university has collaborated with many experts from the industry, who visit as guest lecturers. The overall fees are quite affordable as well and include hostel charges too. The general profile of the colleges and some faculty members might be a disappointment to some but that doesn't tarnish the reputation of the university.
