The student should have opted for a good ranking in KCET OR COMEDK. The cut-off ranking for each branch is different. I cracked the KCET entrance exam and I got a seat in this college One should apply for the KCET entrance exam on the KEA website. Fees for entrance exam varies for General merit and SC/ST. I took admission through KEA, and after the completion of the 2nd puc I took kcet exam which is an entrance exam for engineering in Karnataka. For GM the cutoff is nearly 2000 for information science but for OBC it may extend up to 5000. After the results, there will be several steps like document verification etc after counselling allotment is though 3stages to the first round, the second round then the second extended round after this a candidate is allotted to college through preference and merits.

After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies.
Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied.
