Among the given institutes, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is better for an Economics Hons. It has a better student crowd than Maitreyi. You will be among competitive peers. The placement opportunities offered are also better. The average package offered at the institute is 8 LPA. While the highest was 10-12 LPA, last year.
DCAC also offers various extracurricular activities.
Here is a brief review of the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.
These are some of the major things that you should know about DCAC.
Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is one of the most reputed colleges under Delhi University. The faculties for the English department at the institute are quite good. You will also get a good peer group. English is one of the most sought-after courses offered at the institute. So, if you are getting English (Hons) at DCAC, go for it.
The BA program offered by the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is good. The infrastructure of the department is decent. You will not face any trouble adjusting. The campus is peaceful and ideal for studies.
The faculties are great. Other than lectures they will give you information regarding useful seminars and workshops.
The rest depends entirely on you. Attendance is not mandatory, so many students choose to bunk classes. But if you want to learn there are great facilities. The library has a huge collection of books.
Overall, DCAC is a quintessential and fairly standard college. However, if you are a new student looking for admission, this is a good college to consider. If you only have one option, go with DCAC.
The faculty members determine whether or not a department is worthwhile. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced. Students have always provided positive feedback, particularly for the Economics Department. Another factor to consider is your sincerity, seriousness, consistency, and punctuality with regard to the subject, as well as your desire to become enlightened.
The department of Political Science of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is quite good. The teachers are well-qualified and cooperative. The infrastructure of the department is also decent. The library has many books on Political Science. So, you don’t need to worry about study materials. Overall, DCAC is a great option for pursuing Political Science.
B.A Hons. in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College is definitely a better option than DCAC. It is way better in terms of campus, ranking, reputation, student crowd, etc. The cutoff required for the institute is also higher. So, you will be among competitive peers. If you don’t get LSR, try to get into other south-campus colleges. DCAC is not included in any of the DU campuses, which is a huge disadvantage.
At Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, the BA program has 4 subjects in each semester. There are a total of 6 semesters. Discipline subjects are those that students get to choose and they have to study these subjects for the whole 6 semesters.
There are many combinations of subjects, such as Economics+English, Political Science+Philosophy, Maths+Economics, etc. Whatever combination you choose you will need to study that for the whole 6 semesters and you can’t change afterward.
In the first semester, you will have to study one English (compulsory) and one Ability Enhancement course. You can choose these subjects while applying for admission. In the second semester, you will have to study one Hindi and Environmental Science. In third semester, you will need to study one English and one skill enhancement course. For fourth semester, you will have to study one Hindi and one SEC.
For the fifth and sixth semesters, you will get the opportunity to choose one generic elective subject based on your discipline. You can’t change after you choose.
The admission procedure at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is similar to that of other colleges under DU.
You just have to fill the DU form and then wait for the cutoffs to get released. If you clear the cut off, go through the required processes and you will get an admission in DCAC.
It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC).
Here are some reasons why:
Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.
