Hostel facilities here in vit Chennai is very good . All the rooms are new and we'll furnished. The only problem one can face here in vit hostels is the bunked bed . Other facilities include air conditioning rooms, 3star mess with 3 variation ( veg mess, non veg mess, and special mess) .Meals are very good compared to other colleges. The prices are on higher side . The hostels felt not at all affordable. There are pgs available around the campus.
There is an annual fest in vit Chennai called Vibrance in March. And the technical fest here is called Technovit which is conducted in September. There are lots of books and journals available in the library for use. Amenities in classrooms like ACs in labs and projectors in classrooms but some classrooms lack the fans or some are not working. Sports in vit Chennai are quite bad and no coach is available for any game. The sports facilities are very very less and have lots of restrictions on them. Extracurricular activities are also very less as there are lots and lots of restrictions on campus. There is an app called Vit Chennai run by vitians and WhatsApp community run by students.

Read Full ReviewHostel facility is available in like different types two, three and four bedded but now new hostel blocks are built so don't know about it. Ac and Non AC are available and bathrooms are good and well maintained, hot water is also available for bathing and drinking, washing machines are available but have to pay for that seperate likewise dhobi is also available paid one. And coming to mess menu is good but few items taste good. In mess also there are different types like veg, non-veg and special. Special mess is what I prefer cause it has a few more items at breakfast and other times. Ac room fees are a little expensive.
Campus life is so good, For every year, there will be one tech fest in one semester and an annual fest in the other semester both are the same. The library is very good all types of books are available but few students are wasting time in the library to chit chat, now management is taking care of that. Newly built classes are better because of AC. Projectors are available in every classroom. Sports and extracurricular activities are also good. Food courts are available few taste good and few are bad. There are many social groups and clubs for students that are run by both students and management. Overall campus experience is good. But now the student intake is more so it is like more crowded when I joined it is like a decent number of people.
Read Full ReviewThe college scene is a bit dull. there are about two to three fests namely technoVIt, vibrance etc. The hostels are way too strict and the campus regulations and time make it harder to enjoy. the leave procedure is too restrictive, especially for female students. the campus has multiple clubs but the festivities can be made a bit more enjoyable.
Read Full ReviewThere are many active events in the college, some of the most popular and large-scale events are TechnoVIT and Vibrance, TechnoVIT is a technology exhibition for students of 3rd Years-2nd Years collaborating together to give tech-related events. The other is the cultular extravaganza event "Vibrance" with a lot of food stalls, tech events, cultural events, dances, competitions and photography booths, etc name it all. Every student should definitely take part in a club for a required credit called FFCS Club Registration. Hence all students get an opporunity to work officially for a club, while also taking part in other clubs informally too. There are a lot of pages in instagram like vitrendz, vit official for news about clubs, or there are regular email newsletters to get info about club infras structure, events and recruitments. There are a lot of sports club, events too, be it inter-college or intra-college as well, everyday there's atleast 2 active events!
Read Full ReviewVibrance and technoVIT are conducted every year. Books and journals in the library are fairly abundant and are of good quality. It is very easy to borrow books and renew them online. Classrooms have decent amenities with charging ports and each floor also has drinking water. Sports are highly encouraged and competitions are held almost every week. There is a gym membership and various other memberships such as swimming pool memberships available. Students can easily borrow sports equipment to play during their free time at no additional cost.

According to a senior of mine who has graduated from NIT Raipur, the institute is better than most top colleges in Bangalore including VIT institutes.
Despite having a soft spot for NIT Raipur, she does not discourage candidates from trying their luck at any other university, including VITs. She, however, suggests that they should get acquainted for measuring progress after completion of the undergraduate degree.

In the case of NIT Raipur, almost every candidate will get at least one job, in recent years many also bagged two jobs. The ones who have, get a package of 4-8 LPA for the first job, and a package of as much as 16-17 LPA for the second job. Candidates who do not get a second job also land a job with a package of 4-8 LPA.
Overall, it is safe to say that CSE from NIT Raipur will be a good option.
In terms of academics, Amrita University matches the IIT syllabus and course structure. The infrastructure and laboratories are in good condition. The college works closely with businesses and other educational institutions. Many academic activities are being carried out to ensure effective information exchange.
College life is the most interesting part. Amrita University's Coimbatore campus is one of the cleanest in India and spans 500 acres. Amrita is a very diverse campus and a great place to make new friends. There is no such constraint. Cell phones are not permitted in the classroom. However, after leaving the classroom, you can talk to your loved ones. A minimum attendance requirement of 80% must be met, or you must present sufficient justification for your absence.
Amrita provides free wifi that is typically 0.5Mbps fast. Aside from YouTube, Facebook, and a few other sites, most academic content is available. Everything else is restricted. Only nutritious vegetarian food is served. The menu is adequate for a South Indian restaurant. If you are a traveler, you will have enough vacation time in Amrita to visit all of India in two years. The resident warden must grant permission for the outing. Every time a girl needs an outing pass, she must submit a fax from her parents. You can earn millions if you plan on participating in and winning every cultural event that is held there. It is an excellent world-class platform for showcasing and honing your skills.
This academic year, Atlassian is the employer with the highest salary on offer to Amrita students, with a staggering 52 lakhs offered annually. Microsoft offered 43 lakhs per year in salary, while Cisco hired 27 students at a CTC of 29.18 lakhs per year.
According to the most recent report, the highest and average compensation packages offered during the 2022 placement drive were INR 19.17 LPA and INR 6.72 LPA, respectively. Furthermore, in 2022, 93 recruiters participated in the placement process, placing 261 students in new-age job profiles. Accenture, Adobe, Infosys, EY, KPMG, and others were among Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's top recruiters in 2022.
If you compare NIT Raipur and VIT Chennai, then NIT Raipur is much better than VIT. In the given table you will get the basic information of NIT Raipur and VIT Chennai.
Here are few reasons why NIT Raipur is a better option.
Therefore, if you are choosing between NIT Raipur and VIT Chennai, then choose the former. The placement of NIT Raipur is also good. Branches like Electronics and Telecommunications, CSE, Electrical, Mechanical have good placement records. However, Metallurgy, CE, Mining branch placement is not very promising. So make your decision based on these things.
VIT CSE is better in terms of placements, industry exposure, opportunities, and many other things as compared to NIT Puducherry Electrical. According to the recent placement highlights of VIT, the average CTC offered was 6 LPA and the highest CTC offered was 75 LPA.
On the other hand, NIT Puducherry is a Govt. college. It changes less course fee. For a B.E degree, NIT Puducherry charges around 2.17 lakhs, while a B.Tech from VIT will cost around 8 lakhs. The peer group at the institute is great. You will also have the NIT tag with your degree. That is certainly a perk of pursuing a degree at NIT Puducherry.
However, you should choose the institute based on your interest. If you like coding go for VIT CSE, or if you like basic sciences more than NIT Puducherry Electrical Engineering will be a better option for you.
One of my cousins was in the same situation. He had very few options, mainly VIT, Tezpur University, and few NITs. He did some research and found that Tezpur University is considered the best central government institute. After talking to some students of the institute he also learned that the institute is great although the placement rate is not that good. It is a decent option if you want to pursue research.
His focus was placements. So, he chose VIT, Chennai and now he is a proud alumnus of the institute.
Here is a brief comparison of Tezpur University and VIT.
Parameters | Tezpur University | VIT |
Course fee | 2.11 lakhs | 7.83 lakhs |
Average CTC | 3.5 LPA | 6.39 LPA |
Highest CTC | 14 LPA | 44 LPA |
