Overall, the hostel facilities at IIM Sambalpur were satisfactory. The rooms had basic amenities such as a bed, almirah, and study table and chair setup. The quality of the food served in the mess was average, with a diverse menu that changed monthly based on student preferences. One downside was that the hostel fees, which were included in the overall cost of the program, were somewhat expensive at 13 lakhs for two years. However, the hostel did provide useful facilities like a water filter and washing machine on each floor. Overall, the hostel experience at IIM Sambalpur was fairly typical for a business school program.
Life at the IIM Sambalpur campus is hectic but never mundane. With rigorous classes and assignments, students often find themselves burning the midnight oil in the library. However, there is also a strong focus on extracurricular activities, with numerous student committees and clubs, such as the Cultural and Sports Committee, providing opportunities for students to relax and socialize. The annual fest, Ethos, is a two-day event featuring a variety of management, cultural, and sports activities. The campus is also home to a well-stocked library with a wide range of books and journals available for students. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, and there are numerous sports and extracurricular activities for students to get involved in. The campus is also home to a number of social groups and clubs, such as the PR and Media Committee, which students run.
