Ques
How is NIT Mizoram? Is NIT Mizoram worth joining? What are the bright sides of NIT Mizoram?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Singhal on 28 Jun 21

Ans
NIT Mizoram is one of the new NITs that was established in 2010. The MHRD recognizes NITs as institutes of national importance. You may already be aware of the NIT brand, which will help you in your future career. Being a student here myself, I can say that NIT Mizoram over other private institutes will undoubtedly be a better choice. As it is a new NIT, it does not have a permanent campus yet, but that will not be a problem because college buses are provided from the hostel to college. It is located in Aizawl, which is a lovely city with beautiful weather all year. The faculty is excellent. The teachers here have PhDs, and those with a master's degree are pursuing a Ph.D. NIT Mizoram offers many Giant courses that are not available at any private institute. It previously held a course on Robot Operating System and is currently holding 5 more Math and Electrical courses. The infrastructure of our Virtual Classroom is among the best in the country. Even IIT Guwahati does not have such cutting-edge VCR infrastructure. Annual techno-cultural fests are also held. In which students participate in events such as drama, dance, and singing, etc. They also host an annual sports festival. Despite the fact that NIT Mizoram is often looked down upon due to its remote location, this place has its own flavor. So, in all NIT Mizoram is one of the best institutes we have in India.

Ques
Which is better, NIT Silchar, NIT Agartala, or NIT Mizoram?

● Top Answer By Sudipta Ghose on 26 Jul 21

Ans
One of my close friends graduated from the CSE department of NIT Agartala. I have friends from NIT Silchar and NIT Mizoram as well. Based on what I heard from them, I will say that NIT Silchar is a better option. The reasons why NIT Silchar is better than the other two institutes are as follows. NIT Silchar is ranked better than NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram by NIRF. NIT Silchar has a better placement record. Students mostly prefer NIT Silchar over NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram. So, it has a better opening and closing JEE/AIEEE ranks. The difference between NIT Silchar and NIT Agartala is minimal. Both of these two are tier 2, old NITs and have similar pros and cons. NIT Silchar is marginally better than Agartala. However, the latter is catching up quite quickly. NIT Agartala has the only supercomputer in the North East. ISRO has opened an incubation center in NIT Agartala, which is the first in India. Even, few companies choose to conduct joint placement drives for NIT Agartala and NIT Silchar. So, there is not much difference between NIT Silchar and NIT Agartala. If you are getting your preferred branch at NIT Agartala, don’t choose NIT Silchar over it. As for NIT Mizoram, it is a fairly new institute and needs time to catch up with the other two institutes.

Ques
Should I join NIT Mizoram or any other Tier III Private Engineering College?

● Top Answer By Pratik Parikh on 12 Apr 23

Ans
When considering admission to a college, it's important to think about various factors, such as location, faculty, exposure, and opportunities for career growth. Let's take a closer look at NIT Mizoram and whether it's a good choice for you. NIT Mizoram is located in a remote area, which may limit your exposure to various job opportunities and other activities that are available in bigger cities. While the faculty at NIT Mizoram may be knowledgeable, it's important to note that there is always a chance that you may not receive the education you desire or need. In terms of job opportunities, NIT Mizoram may not offer as many opportunities as private colleges located in bigger cities. This is partly due to its location and also due to its smaller size. However, it's also important to keep in mind that your chances of getting a good job or succeeding in your career don't just depend on the college you attend. It's up to you to put in the effort and take advantage of the resources available to make the most of your college experience. Private colleges in bigger cities may offer more opportunities for internships, networking, and exposure to various industries, which could increase your chances of finding a good job after graduation. However, it's important to consider the cost of attending private colleges in bigger cities, which may be significantly higher than attending a college like NIT Mizoram.

Ques
Which is better, production engineering at NIT Agartala or ECE at NIT Mizoram?

● Top Answer By Spandita Majumder on 28 Jul 21

Ans
Your decision completely depends on your priority as to what is the most important to you, the branch or the college. Being a graduate from NIT Agartala, I would suggest you go for NIT Agartala rather than NIT Mizoram. If college is the most important to you then you should go for NIT Agartala. The infrastructure is far better than most of the NITs. You may have to face some trouble regarding the faculties as they are not up to the mark. If the branch is your priority go for ECE, however, Production Engineering also has grown as a department. You can make your careers in Supply Change, Quality Management, and Control, etc. Other than this, your choice should depend upon the location. Give preference to the one that's closer to your home. Both the colleges are tier 3 Indian engineering colleges and the graduates have been working in companies with a package of 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. Categories Production Engineering at NIT Agartala ECE at NIT Mizoram Course Fee 6.31 lakh 5.43 lakh Highest CTC 8-10 LPA 6-7 LPA Average CTC 5.5 LPA 3.5 - 4 LPA Recruiting Companies L&T, NTPC, JP Morgan, Reliance, etc. Bharat Electronics Limited, Tech Mahindra, IBM, HP, etc. Both branches are equally good in their own ways. But ultimately it is your decision to choose where you want to study. It is suggested that you go for NIT Agartala as it is a more experienced institution than NIT Mizoram.

Ques
Is the NIT in Mizoram better than the other institutes?

● Top Answer By Damini Gupta on 27 Jun 21

Ans
The question is a little ambiguating but I will try to provide some information on NIT Mizoram based on the reviews I got from my friends at the institute. NIT Mizoram is one of the ten new NITs. It is an autonomous university having national importance and is AICTE affiliated. Due to the NIT tag, the university has a brand value that most private colleges fail to acquire. Currently, it has a temporary campus in Aizawl with a lack of excellent infrastructure. The permanent campus is not ready yet. The fee and placement details: Tuition Fee INR 5.43 Lakhs Average Package INR 7.11 LPA Highest Package INR 12 LPA Placement % 56.15% Top Recruiters L&T, Reliance Jio, Vedanta, Virtusa, Infosys, IBM, First American, Power Grid Corp, BEL. Overall, NIT Mizoram is far behind the IITs and older NITs, but it is superior to most private institutes.

Ques
What should I choose, mechanical engineering at MANIT Bhopal or CSE at NIT (Manipur, Mizoram, etc.)? People say it would be better if you choose CSE.

● Top Answer By Annindita Mukherjee on 29 Jul 21

Ans
Having friends studying in both the institutes, I can say that MANIT Bhopal and NIT both are good in every criterion. When it comes to choosing between colleges and courses, the first preference should be given to the course you want to study. Speaking of courses in between Mechanical and CSE branches, CSE has more advantages in today’s world. It is the most demanded course in the field of engineering and has a lot to offer in the real and corporate world. CSE branch has further specializations and has more scope than any other branch in engineering. MANIT Bhopal and NIT are almost on the same level with NIT leading slightly due to its brand recognition, placement stats, and records. Both the institutes have good faculties and a revised curriculum. CSE branch gets to see more offers for placements and internships from various tech giants and from many MNC’s. NIT also has the brand name attached to it so it will prove useful in the future when you will look for a job. In the given choices CSE has better growth and demand than Mechanical and NIT is slightly better than MANIT Bhopal. So the clear choice here will be CSE at NIT unless you wish to study mechanical then the other is fine too. Choose a college that is good which includes not just the NIT tag but also about management, faculty, students.
