MAKAUT admission 2023 is entrance based. For this purpose, the university conducts its own entrance exams, CET, JEMAT, GAT-B, and PGET. MAKAUT offers more than 100 courses in Engineering, Science, Management, Pharmacy, and Technology. Amongst all, the flagship program of the university is BTech. Admission to B.Tech is offered on the basis of rank secured in the WBJEE examination.

MAKAUT offers a 4 years long B.Tech program via regular mode in two specializations namely, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT). Admissions to the program are done through the WBJEE entrance examination followed by counseling for final seat allotments. The university also offers B.Tech Lateral entry on the basis of scores obtained in the WBJELET entrance examination.

- Candidates must have passed their bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline.
- Candidates should have passed their graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.75 CGPA.

- If academics are concerned, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University is much better than Haldia Institute Technology.
- If you are interested in research and development, the Haldia Institute of Technology is preferable.
- There is a report of the third-year students from Haldia, they researched on a material which can help you to store the food for a good amount of time. Well, the students did it almost around practicing for 1100 times.
