UPES offers Ph.D. courses through full-time and part-time modes in a number of specializations. The minimum eligibility to apply is a Master’s degree with 60% marks in the relevant field. UPES admission to Ph.D. is done on the basis of Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by UPES, followed by an interview. During the interview, candidates will be expected to discuss their research interests.

Key Points:

• Candidates with 5 years or more industry/teaching experience will be given 5% relaxation for UPES admission in Ph.D. in Engineering/Technology and Science.
• Candidates with 5 years or more managerial experience will be given 5% relaxation for Ph.D. in Management.
• Those with the qualification of CA/ICWA/CFA/CS/LLB with 60% marks and 5 years of professional experience are eligible for Ph.D. in Management admission.
• For Ph.D. in Law, LLM degree holders who are practicing professionals may be given a relaxation of 5% if they have 5 years of professional experience.
• Candidates selected provisionally are required to complete the coursework requirement prescribed by Faculty/College Research Committee.

UPES Ph.D. (Part-Time) Application Process:

Ph.D. (Part-Time) application form can be filled online or offline by following the given steps: Online Ph.D. Application

1. Visit the official website of UPES and click on ‘Programs’ from the drop-down menu.
2. Select the discipline you wish to apply for.
3. Select ‘Specialization’ and click on ‘Next’.
4. Fill the application form and pay the required fee.
5. Submit the duly filled form and note down the ‘Registration Number’ for future reference.

Ph.D. Offline Application

1. Visit the official website of UPES and click on ‘Programs’ from the drop-down menu.
2. Select the discipline you wish to apply for.
3. Click on ‘Application Form’ and download the same.
4. Fill the form with respect to Personal, Professional & Academic details.
5. Send the duly filled form with Application Fee of INR 2000 in the form of DD in favor of ‘UPES’, payable at Dehradun or through NEFT Transfer to:
