It would not be right to question the idea of ranking institutes based on metrics such as the highest CTC (cost to company) offered to graduates, or the perceived quality of the companies that hire graduates. It is not the institute itself that determines a person's success, but rather the individual's own actions and what they do with the education they receive. You also emphasize the importance of academic and personal discipline, which you believe are more valuable than material success.
People believe that everyone who studies at any IIM has the potential to be successful, but not necessarily in the sense of earning a high salary or getting a high-paying job. Instead, the true value of an institute lies in the knowledge and skills that a person gains, and how they use them to make a positive impact in the world. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to determine their own success and make the most of the opportunities they receive. You will have a positive experience studying at IIM Trichy, but it will not be fair or accurate to claim that it is the best new IIM.
Before choosing a college, try to make sure what you are really interested in. If it is MS then don’t go for any IIM. This is because you can pursue an MBA later in life if MS did not work for you. But you will not get the chance to choose Ms after your MBA. Also since it’s your area of interest, chances are you might find your talents and may want to work on them.
Now if you are sure about the course but confused about the IIMs, I will give you my honest opinion. The new IIMs are enjoying fame and glory owing to the achievements of their predecessors alone. They haven’t done much to attain the level of older IIMs. These new IIMs are poorly organized. The faculty is below average, the infrastructure is substandard and the teaching is pathetic. Yet they are here to claim the coveted IIM tag.
So if you are someone for whom the tag of IIM and its high placement matters only, you can surely go for a new IIM. But if you value education over institutions then base your decision on research.
Your preference order should be IIM Trichy> IIM Udaipur> IIM Raipur. In terms of academics, ROI, placements, recruiting companies, and peer groups, IIM Trichy is the best option for Operation.
IIM Trichy placements 2022 highlights show that Operations is among the major recruiting domain. The average and highest CTC offered by the recruiters in this domain were INR 16.7 LPA and INR 22 LPA, respectively.
Despite being a relatively new IIM, IIM Trichy has already established itself as one of the best among the newer IIMs. It currently ranks 18th in terms of average salary, according to the placement report and NIRF ranking. The institute is known for its strong placements and high return on investment, particularly in its flagship PGPM program.
In terms of facilities, IIM Trichy boasts a large campus spread across 175 acres, including student hostels, faculty residences, a library, recreational facilities, and executive residences. The institute is particularly strong in finance, with a renowned faculty base and an association with the CFA.
It also maintains a strong sense of community through events such as the annual sports meet, "Sangaram," which includes IIM Trichy, Bangalore, Kozhikode, and Vizag. The academic rigor at IIM Trichy provides students with a challenging and pressure-filled business school experience. The institute's students have consistently performed well in major business competitions such as Mahindra War Room and CFA-RC, and its alumni are employed at high levels in multinational companies such as Citi bank, Google, JPMC, Mahindra, KPMG, Dabur, and more, located in locations around the world including London, Dubai, San Francisco, Singapore, and Houston.
IIM Trichy also emphasizes the importance of corporate social responsibility and includes such projects in the curriculum. Based on all of these factors, it is expected that IIM Trichy will become the best among the newer IIMs in the near future.
Yes, you do have a chance to convert calls from IIM Kashipur. However, I will suggest that you aim for at least 95 percentile.

From the table we can clearly see that the placement opportunities are better at Trichy than at Ranchi.
Campus: One major difference between the 2 IIMs is that Trichy has a permanent campus whereas Ranchi does not. So if you want to live a dreamy college life with amazing accommodation facilities, then Trichy is for you.
In order to research the opportunities that both of these colleges, IIM Udaipur as well as IIM Trichy have to offer in the field of finance, it is a good idea to try and get in touch with previous students who have studied finance at these colleges. You can ask them about their experiences and whether they believe that the college prepared them well for a career in finance. It is also a good idea to be specific about the particular career choice within finance that you are interested in, as this will help you to determine whether the college has a strong track record of placing students in those types of roles.
Additionally, online forums such as Pagalguy can be useful resources for gathering information and asking questions about the opportunities that are available at these colleges. It is important to be specific in your queries on these forums, as this will help you to get more targeted and helpful responses.
IIM Trichy is the best option among these. It is especially good for Strategy, Finance, and Marketing specialization. The institute has an excellent placement record. IIM Trichy placement 2022 ended with an average CTC of INR 17.01 LPA, while the highest CTC offered this year was INR 34 LPA. It has a permanent campus and offers an enviable campus experience to students.
If you want to specialize in HR, IIM Ranchi will be a better option.
Depending on who you ask, this question has a variety of answers. The majority of the students, faculty, and business representatives you'll come into contact with, however, rank Kashipur last among the three colleges mentioned.
Most people, especially in the south, prefer Trichy over Udaipur when it comes to placements. However, in the past two years, people from Mumbai, Calcutta, and Delhi region have also made this recommendation. One reason for this is that Udaipur is overly dependent on its director, who, according to reports, has a narrow perspective on placements. Contrarily, Trichy is thought to take a more well-rounded and superior approach to academics, extracurriculars, and placements. This is why Trichy was chosen over Udaipur.
The average salary offered to the graduating batch of 2022 at IIM Tiruchirappalli was INR 17.01 LPA. This year saw an increase in the salaries offered to students, with the highest salary reaching INR 34 LPA and the median salary. Other areas where offers were made included sales and marketing (19%), finance (15%), IT and analytics (10%), and operations (9%).
The campus saw the participation of regular recruiters such as ABFRL, Avalon Consulting, Bain & Company, BNY Mellon, Cognizant, Deloitte, GAIL, Godrej, HSBC, ICICI, Microsoft, NatWest, Optum, JP Morgan & Chase, Ultra tech, McKinsey & Co, Samsung, and TATA AIG. In addition, the campus also established new relationships with leading recruiters such as Accenture Strategy & Consulting, Adani Wilmar, Axis Bank, Capgemini, Chargebee, CRISIL, EXL Services, EY GDS, IBM, Infosys Consulting, Reliance Retail, and Wells Fargo.
