All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions after that based on our ranking we get a respective course like engineering mbbs coming to the cutoff we can't predict it's varying yearly KCET is not so difficult We can cark easily reserve benefits we can take by providing required documents to our college and in our verification time also.

Visvesvaraya Technological University - [VTU]: 40 answered questions

Ques
How is CGPA calculated for Visvesvaraya Technical University (VTU) Karnataka from given percentage?

● Top Answer By Sagardeep on 24 Jan 23

Ans
There is no universal formula for converting your percentage to CGPA or vice versa, and it is also dependent on where you intend to use it. If you want to apply for graduate studies (assuming you do), your alumni who have applied recently can help you. Contact them through LinkedIn. Seek assistance from your professors/college administration as well, as they may have witnessed/aided other students who have faced similar issues in the past. Otherwise, if you're just curious about your percentage's equivalent GPA, see if your college, VTU has an established conversion formula for students who want to pursue higher education and must include an equivalent GPA in their applications.

Ques
How do I calculate engineering aggregate percentage of 8 semesters in VTU?

● Top Answer By Arun Nayak on 29 Sept 21

Ans
Having a cousin who graduated from VTU and read online reviews here’s what I got to know. Firstly, you have to calculate the obtained marks divided by maximum marks obtained from 1 to 8 semesters * 100 to calculate your overall aggregate in engineering. To calculate your final obtained marks in respective subjects. Final obtained marks will be different in many cases. For example, In the first case, if a student is cleared on the 1st attempt, then the 1st attempt marks will be their final marks. In the second case, if a student is cleared in the 2nd or 3rd attempt, then the final marks will be their 2nd or 3rd respectively. Also, according to VTU, they use only 5th semester to 8th-semester 1st attempt marks for awarding the degree or rank's purpose. So, it can’t be considered as overall engineering aggregate marks. If a company or an exam asks for overall engineering aggregate marks, one should use their final obtained marks from 1st semester to 8th-semester marks.

Ques
What are some tips for scoring high marks in VTU?

● Top Answer By Deeksha Mukharjee on 25 Apr 22

Ans
The trick for scoring well in VTU is simple. You should choose 5 units and go through them thoroughly. Don’t skip any topics from these units. You can keep the last unit optional. Solve the previous 5 years' questions. However, don’t rely on these papers alone.  Take all three internals and don’t take the third internal lightly. It will prepare you for the external. Try to score well in practicals. In the examination, present your answer in an effective way.

Ques
How many marks are required to clear VTU?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 24 Jan 23

Ans
Visvesvaraya Technological University, VTU's minimum passing mark is 35%, with 40% in practical, project work, viva voce, and so on. It should be 40% after aggregation, including theory and internal marks. If a student fails only one subject, passes all exams with grace marks, or receives minimum pass marks in theory, practical, or internal and scores less after aggregation, 5 marks will be awarded. Each candidate must receive at least 50% of the marks allotted for each subject's internal assessment, including the seminar. Candidates who receive less than 50% of the Internal Assessment marks in any subject are ineligible to take the exam in that subject. For passing a theory subject, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 40% in the University Examination and a minimum of 50% in the aggregate including the Internal Assessment marks.

Ques
Is VTU good?

● Top Answer By Nivedita Roy on 05 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends who completed their engineering degrees from VTU. They didn’t have a good experience at the institute. Here are some of the things that they complain about.  The examination papers are tough. The syllabus is vast. Evaluation does not depend on how well you did in your paper, it is completely up to luck.  The faculties are not that cooperative. You will get little to no help in terms of academics from the faculty.  Going by all these factors I will say go for other institutes if you have that option.

Ques
Can I apply for VTU transcript by paying fees online?

● Top Answer By Ritika Mitra on 05 Oct 21

Ans
Yes, you can apply for VTU transcripts by paying online.  You need to go to the college website, download, and fill the form. The form can also be filled in by hand. The amount of the first copy has increased to 500 and the subsequent copies cost 300 each. You need to have self-attested copies of mark sheets of all semesters. Payments can be made via card/ net banking and PayUMoney. You will have to pay a convenience fee of around rupees 20 to 30, based on your mode of payment. You need to put a valid email address for receiving the invoice of the payment. The payment details should be filled with precision. Get a good envelope for sending the payment invoice and filled form. It is better to send the form and the payment by speed post to the said address on the website. VTU will send the transcripts to your address within 25 to 30 days. They will be sending a photocopy of the transcripts and the required number of transcripts in a separate envelop with a seal. Fees once paid are never refunded so it is very important to check it properly before submitting.

Ques
What happens when one gets a year back at VTU? Do I have to rewrite all the exams from that year again?

● Top Answer By Ipsita Chaterjee on 21 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends who graduated from VTU and here are their insights about this. As per VTU rules, any year, you can carry 4 backs of the previous year into the next year. You need to clear all 4 backs from the previous year in the next year. You can carry 4 backs from the current year again to the next year. This circle goes on until you reach your final year.  If you fail to clear your backs in some years’ time, you will be considered as NFFTE (not fit for technical education) by VTU. If you have 5 subjects back then you will need to clear at least one subject and join next year. You will have the chance to clear all subjects that year and join as a fresh entry next year without any backlogs for the second year.  But try to clear all your subjects every year. If you can manage to clear your labs with 95% and get first-class in theory, you will get an aggregate of distinction.  Try to score well in your internals. If you can score 22+ in your internals, there is a good chance that you will be able to get first-class.  Make sure that your internal score doesn’t go below 15. If you score below 15 in internals, you may end up failing the subject, even if you score the passing mark, i.e. 35 in external.  Now, if you are opting for revaluation, you can get permission for attending the classes until you get the revaluation result by applying to the college administration. You may need to pay some extra fee for that.  If you have good aggregate and decent logical reasoning and communication skills then you can get a good job via campus placement after completing your degree.

Ques
What is the percentage of student passes after revaluation in VTU?

● Top Answer By Ajay Gupta on 21 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends from VTU, and according to their experience, very few people pass after revaluation. It completely depends on the person that will correct your answer script.  I know people who needed 5 marks to pass but didn’t get it. I also know people who needed more than 10 marks and eventually got it. So, it’s better to apply for revelation irrespective of how many marks you need.

Ques
How is the correction done in VTU? Is it strict?

● Top Answer By Rajanya Dasgupta on 21 May 22

Ans
No, the evaluation process at VTU is not that strict. You can easily score decent marks if you write the answer according to the books recommended by VTU. The answer scripts are evaluated according to the answer key prepared by the board that sets up the question paper. So, follow VTU recommended books for preparation.
