No, the evaluation process at VTU is not that strict. You can easily score decent marks if you write the answer according to the books recommended by VTU. The answer scripts are evaluated according to the answer key prepared by the board that sets up the question paper. So, follow VTU recommended books for preparation.
It’s hard to say with VTU. You may get better marks than you anticipated. You may even get less. It totally depends on who is evaluating your paper. I know many students from VTU who got way better marks than they expected. There are instances where the opposite happened too.
According to my friends at VTU, if you got the passing marks in a subject don’t bother applying for photocopy and revaluation. Because the chance of getting even one extra mark is 0.1%.
