Course Details

Delhi University BBA admission 2024 for all affiliated colleges is expected to start in the month of June 2024. Admission to the BBA program will be based on scores obtained in the CUET UG examination, conducted by NTA. CUET UG 2024 exam will be held from May 15 to May 31, 2024. Registrations for BBA admission at DU affiliated colleges will be done through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS UG) Portal @ugadmission.uod.ac.in. CSAS UG application fee is INR 250 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Check DU Admission 2024

DU BBA is a 3-years course with a specialization in Finance and Investment Analysis. The course is offered via two DU colleges namely, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women.

Delhi University BBA Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for BBA admission at Delhi University, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Must have a Senior secondary school exam (10+2) pass certificate from a Delhi University recognized education board with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
SC, ST, CW, PwD category students are allowed a relaxation of 5%.

Delhi University BBA Admission Criteria

Admission to the BBA in Finance and Investment Analysis will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG). Candidates must appear in CUET in the following subject combination:

Any one Language from List A + Mathematics + SECTION III of CUET (General Test)
Merit will be based on the CUET scores obtained from the above-mentioned combination of subjects.

Those who qualify the entrance examination will be required to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for seat allocation. The admission process includes three phases, in the first phase aspirants are required to fill the CSAS portal by visiting the official website – ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Phase 2 includes filling out programs and college preferences and seat allotment will be done in the third phase. The university will be conducting multiple rounds of seat allocation based on the colleges and programs combination filled by students. Selected candidates then can choose to accept/freeze or upgrade their seats by the given date. Upon acceptance of a seat, the respective college will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the fee payment.

Candidates seeking admission to affiliated colleges of Delhi University must register for CUET examination first and then on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The application process for Delhi University UG admisisons is mentioned below:

DU BBA Application Process Through CUET UG

Candidates must visit the official CUET UG official website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.
After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button.
After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully.
After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents.
Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future reference.

Visit the official website of Delhi University – admission.uod.ac.in or CSAS portal – ugadmission.uod.ac.in.
Click on “Register” in the menu bar.
Read all the information carefully and then click on “proceed”.
Enter your personal and academic details.
Submit the necessary documents such as photograph, signature, class X marksheet, category certificate.
Pay an application fee through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI/etc.
Submit the application form.
Take a printout of application form for future reference.

Delhi University BBA Course Details

The entire course work is divided into 3 years consisting of 6 semesters in total. The course deals with various managerial insights needed for a budding professional such as financial management, derivatives, statistics, economics, etc. The university offers three types of electives namely Discipline Specific Elective, Skill Enhancement Course, Generic Elective / Interdisciplinary Course.

The first and second semester has 3 core courses and 1 Generic Elective /Interdisciplinary Courses each.
The 3rd and 4th semesters have 3 core courses, 1 Generic Elective /Interdisciplinary Courses and 1 Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) each.
Distance 6th semester has two core courses and two Discipline Specific Elective courses each.
The University offers 8 discipline-specific elective courses, 4 skill enhancement courses and 5 generic elective/interdisciplinary courses.
After the 4th semester, students are required to undergo a Summer internship lasting 6 to 8 weeks and prepare an internship report. Some major internship recruiters are Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey Knowledge Centre, Grant Thornton, CBRE, Willis Towers Watson, Accenture, Nielsen, AT Kearney, etc

Ans. BMS and BBA (FIA) both are good courses offered by SSCBS, Delhi University. The subject may overlap between these two but overall BMS is a much broader course covering more subject areas like Accountancy, Management, economics, statistics, etc. Whereas BBA (FIA) is a more finance centric course. At the end of the day what matters is what you want to choose. If you have a specific interest in finance then BBA (FIA) is the better option. But if you are not so sure what you want to specialise in, then go for BMS which is more generic. Also In Delhi University, the number of seats available for BBA (FIA) is less. So a BBA (FIA) degree can be more valuable.

To say, one of these is better than the other will be an oversimplification. You should choose BHU or DU based on the course you are interested in. Here is a streamwise comparison of DU and BHU. Arts - For English and Economics, DU is better. BHU courses are better for Sanskrit, Hindi, Geography, and Philosophy. For the rest of these subjects, these institutes are at a similar level. Science - BHU is slightly ahead for most of the science stream. Commerce - For commerce courses, DU is definitely better. Engineering - It won’t be fair to compare IIT BHU with DU. The former is way ahead of the latter. Management - FMS is a tier 1 B-School and arguably the best non-IIM school in the country. IMS BHU ranks nowhere near FMS. Law - For law degrees, DU has a slight advantage because of its location. Medical - IMS BHU is one of the best medical institutes in the country. Academics are more or less the same at BHU and DU. However, big names like St. Stephens, SRCC, LSR, etc. are a little ahead of BHU in terms of teaching quality. BHU offers better research facilities, especially for science courses. DU is way ahead of BHU in terms of corporate jobs and civil services. BHU offers a better campus experience compared to DU. But if we talk about location, choosing a metropolitan city, that too Delhi will be more advantageous. You will have greater exposure and opportunities.
