According to some of my friends who study there, Pondicherry University is not good due to the following reasons: Uncooperative Faculty - The faculty does not give good internal marks and does not teach the subject in the class for the entire degree duration. More than 60% of faculty doesn&rsquo;t provide a double-digit score in the internal assessment. Classes are not conducted regularly. It has been seen that they usually taught in 1st year only and you have to study on your own for the remaining time. Unfair Evaluation- There is no correct answer evaluation at Pondicherry University. The papers are evaluated casually. Deserving students are often failed in the examination due to the carelessness of the teachers. Last-Minute Decisions - The decisions at Pondicherry University can be taken at any time. There have been many cases where exams get rescheduled without any prior notice. This creates problems for students coming from other states as they have done their flight/train bookings in advance. These can be the reasons why Pondicherry University is not good. There are a lot of provisions which could be improved.

To grab these advantages, one must take full-profit from the institute and should also take interest in studies. The after-effects of pursuing a course from Pondicherry University are: An experience with millions of stories to share. A student who visits any other college in the future will find it unorganized as compared to Pondicherry University. For future studies, a student of Pondicherry University will never go to any below-average/average institute. There are five hostels for women at Pondicherry University. Some are old and some are new. The quality, facilities, standards, d&eacute;cor, etc depends on whether you are getting the new hostels or the old ones. The old ones are being repaired, however, and new hostels for women will be constructed soon. The condition and facilities vary depending on the location of the rooms in a particular hostel. You will get rooms that will accommodate two or three students including you. You will get utilities like a table, cupboard, bed, fans, etc. Apart from these, you will also get unlimited wifi connection, an area for washing and drying clothes, and drinking water facilities. You can address your grievances to the administrative staff and the office of the warden.

The official website of the university will show you how to get the transcript. Before you apply for the transcript, keep in mind that you must have the original mark sheets for which you need the transcript and how many transcripts you need. Also, do not forget to get photocopies of the mark sheet as they will be your future transcripts. After you are done with the online processes, go to the Registrar&rsquo;s Office which is in the Admin Block. You can get the transcript request form. You can also download it from the website. After you get the form, go to the Indian Bank that is in the university that is next to the Admin Block where you have to pay for the transcripts. After the payment, you will be given a challan for the same which you can attach with the transcript. With the photocopy of the mark sheets, submit the form with the challan. For verification, you may be asked to produce the original mark sheets. The Assistant Registrar signs and stamps each and every copy submitted by you. If you submitted the documents before 12 PM, you might get the transcripts on the same day before 5 PM. If not, then definitely the next day. Get an envelope of good quality for the transcripts as they will be sealed and signed. Usually, the transcript is a statement of marks in a specific format and is a separate document. In the case of Pondicherry University, though, the mark sheet itself is a transcript. You will get them in two days tops. The procedure can take quite a long time in other places.

Except for the Department of Tourism Studies, all other departments have lower placement results. However, do not depend on the university for placements. In terms of studies, it is good. The fees are quite low compared to private colleges or IIMs. The faculty is really good and the knowledge you can acquire is enormous as well. Some of my friends studied at Pondicherry University. According to them, they offer three Integrated M.Sc programs &ndash; Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Physics, Chemistry and Applied Geology History, Sociology and Political Science You will have to choose from these three disciplines only and then choose the major subject among them. The advantages of the course and university are listed below. You can exit the course after three years with a B.Sc degree. The syllabus is light even though there are three major subjects and thus you can take up any additional courses you like. The university offers freedom in terms of uniform, timetable, and everything else while many of the undergraduate colleges still have school-like rules. You can study an undergraduate course from a university which is pretty rare. Studying 5 years in an Arts stream is difficult and should be reconsidered. The best course is Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Geology. Doing M.Sc in Computer Science is also not a good idea.

Actually, it is quite the contrary. It is quite easy to convert to Pondicherry University even if you are a little serious about your studies. The university conducts its own entrance test every year. You need to clear the test to get admission here. For the test, you need to be moderately prepared (depending on the level of the student) and practice the last 4-5 years of the question paper. The level is easy Most people aim for the IITs, IISc, and ISI Kolkata before joining this university if they do not get a chance there. You can get an idea of the level of the university. The course is good with excellent faculty and a good study environment, more freedom and no academic or social pressures. So it would be a wise decision to join here if you do not get the top colleges.

Merit Scholarship	Scholarship Amount: INR 2,000, INR 1,500 & INR 1,000 per month. Eligibility: The first three candidates who secure the highest percentage of marks in P.G. admission entrance examination shall be eligible for the award of Merit Scholarship. For the subsequent semesters the Merit scholarship of the same amount shall be awarded to the first three candidates who secured highest marks in the previous semester (SGPA).
Merit Cum Mean Scholarship	Scholarship Amount: INR 750 per month Eligibility: 20% of the students in each P.G. degree programme are eligible. The scholarship is granted based on the merit in each semester (SGPA) and the parental income of the student. The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh fifty thousand only)
MSc Marine Biology and Disaster Management Scholarship	Scholarship Amount: INR 1000 per month Eligibility: Awarded to those students who are pursuing these courses at Port Blair, Andamans. This scholarship is granted based on Merits
MTech Computational Biology Scholarship	Scholarship Amount: 12,500 per month Eligibility: This scholarship will be granted based on merit in the qualifying exam to those candidates who are selected in this course.
