Pondicherry University Eligibility Criteria

MBA (Part-time and Full Time) Candidates who opt for admission into any of the MBA programs must have passed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/ Institute Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in order to become eligible for this course The selection in the MBA programme is on the basis of CUET PG Entrance Examination followed by group discussion and Interview.

Pondicherry University Selection Process

The selection for the MBA course is completely based on the CUET PG exam. Candidates will be shortlisted through CUET PG score followed by counseling where group discussion and personal interview will be considered.

CUET PG Exam

Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate), also known as CUET PG, is a national-level entrance exam administered by NTA for admission to more than 40 Central and other participating universities. The CUET PG is held once a year in 554 Indian cities and 13 foreign cities. The exam duration is two hours and it is computer-based. The exam was formerly known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test until last year (CUCET).

Eligibility Criteria.

There is no age limit for candidates. Candidates must, however, meet the age requirements of the university to which they wish to be admitted.
Candidates who have passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent examination are eligible to take the CUET (PG) test.

CUE PG Exam Pattern

The mode of the exam would be a Computer-based test which is of 2 hours duration.
It is conducted in Bilingual Mode.
The number of questions will be 100 which will further be divided into two parts, Part A and Part B, both the parts comprising 25 and 75 MCQs respectively.
Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
The candidate will get 04 (four) marks for correct response.
01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total score for incorrect answers.
Unanswered/unattempted responses will be given no marks.

Pondicherry University Application Process

Candidate needs to follow the below-given steps in order to get admission in this University:

The Candidates have to submit applications for each of the MBA programs separately.
Fill up all columns with complete and correct information after going through the prospectus. Incomplete/ wrong information will entail rejection of the application. Any claim based on wrong information/ course code/ center code/ category (OBC/SC/ST/EWS/Gen), etc. will not be entertained at a later stage.
The aspirants can also apply for more than one course. Before applying for another course the candidates may ensure that there is no “overlap of entrance exams among the courses to which they have applied”. If the candidate could not take the entrance exam for the particular course(s), due to such overlapping, then the university will not be responsible.
Application fee of INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC/ST) to be paid online by following the instruction available on the University website in case of MBA and Ph.Dprogramme. In case of PG Diploma programme, application fee of INR 600/- to be paid in case of General Category and INR 300/- in case of SC/ST category
After proper filling of the application form online and payment of fee online, the candidate can download their printable application from the university website by following instructions therein.
The Hall Ticket will be uploaded by the University after closing of the application registration process.

According to some of my friends who study there, Pondicherry University is not good due to the following reasons: Uncooperative Faculty - The faculty does not give good internal marks and does not teach the subject in the class for the entire degree duration. More than 60% of faculty doesn’t provide a double-digit score in the internal assessment. Classes are not conducted regularly. It has been seen that they usually taught in 1st year only and you have to study on your own for the remaining time. Unfair Evaluation- There is no correct answer evaluation at Pondicherry University. The papers are evaluated casually. Deserving students are often failed in the examination due to the carelessness of the teachers. Last-Minute Decisions - The decisions at Pondicherry University can be taken at any time. There have been many cases where exams get rescheduled without any prior notice. This creates problems for students coming from other states as they have done their flight/train bookings in advance. These can be the reasons why Pondicherry University is not good. There are a lot of provisions which could be improved.

The official website of the university will show you how to get the transcript. Before you apply for the transcript, keep in mind that you must have the original mark sheets for which you need the transcript and how many transcripts you need. Also, do not forget to get photocopies of the mark sheet as they will be your future transcripts. After you are done with the online processes, go to the Registrar’s Office which is in the Admin Block. You can get the transcript request form. You can also download it from the website. After you get the form, go to the Indian Bank that is in the university that is next to the Admin Block where you have to pay for the transcripts. After the payment, you will be given a challan for the same which you can attach with the transcript. With the photocopy of the mark sheets, submit the form with the challan. For verification, you may be asked to produce the original mark sheets. The Assistant Registrar signs and stamps each and every copy submitted by you. If you submitted the documents before 12 PM, you might get the transcripts on the same day before 5 PM. If not, then definitely the next day. Get an envelope of good quality for the transcripts as they will be sealed and signed. Usually, the transcript is a statement of marks in a specific format and is a separate document. In the case of Pondicherry University, though, the mark sheet itself is a transcript. You will get them in two days tops. The procedure can take quite a long time in other places.

According to them, they offer three Integrated M.Sc programs – Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science Physics, Chemistry and Applied Geology History, Sociology and Political Science You will have to choose from these three disciplines only and then choose the major subject among them. The advantages of the course and university are listed below. You can exit the course after three years with a B.Sc degree. The syllabus is light even though there are three major subjects and thus you can take up any additional courses you like. The university offers freedom in terms of uniform, timetable, and everything else while many of the undergraduate colleges still have school-like rules. You can study an undergraduate course from a university which is pretty rare. Studying 5 years in an Arts stream is difficult and should be reconsidered. The best course is Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Geology. Doing M.Sc in Computer Science is also not a good idea.
