Ques
Which is better, chemical engineering from UICET PU Chandigarh, chemical engineering from Thapar University Patiala or computer science from CCET Chandigarh (affiliated to PU)?

● Top Answer By Pankaj Kumar on 05 Aug 21

Ans
Having a few friends from both institutes I might be able to share some facts about both the institutes. Chemical Engineering at UICET is better than Chemical at Thapar University or CSE at CCET. UICET is a well-renowned university and has a reputed department.  They have brilliant placement records and a strong alumni base. Laboratories and faculty at UICET are better than those at Thapar. Course fees at UICET for chemical engineering are very less than that in Thapar University.  Thapar is no doubt a well-reputed university but as far as chemical engineering is concerned UICET is better. CCET is affiliated with PU located in sector-26 Chandigarh. It is well known for its diploma courses. However, UICET is any day better than CCET in all terms. Categories Chemical Engineering at UICET Chemical Engineering at Thapar University CSE at CCET Chandigarh Course Fee INR 70,079 13.23 lakh 2.45 lakh Highest CTC 18 LPA 15 LPA 12 LPA Average CTC 6.31 LPA 7 LPA 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Honeywell, Reliance, Pfizer, Piramal Healthcare, etc. Reliance, GAIL, ONGC, GlaxoSmithKline, etc. Infosys, Godrej, L&T, HCL, etc. Your preference order should be Chemical Engineering at UICET> Chemical at Thapar University> CSE at CCET.

Ques
Which is better for a B.Tech: Punjab University or Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Gari Singla on 06 Aug 21

Ans
A few of my friends graduated from both the mentioned institutes and here are some insights regarding the institutes, based on their experience. If you can afford the fee structure of Thapar university then surely go for it. Also, if you have a good rank then you must try other central government colleges of engineering in Punjab i.e NIT Jalandhar as well SLIET Longowal in district Sangrur, Punjab. Here is a brief comparison of Punjab University and Thapar University.  Particulars Punjab University Thapar University Total fees 70.08 K - 4.26 L 13.23 L Placement percent 70% 90% Highest salary INR 20 LPA INR 43 LPA Average salary INR 7 LPA INR 8 LPA Else, if you want to take chances in the state government college then give priorities to PAU Ludhiana, GNDU Amritsar after that you can try for Punjabi University Patiala.

Ques
What are the best things for Punjab University students to do on weekends?

● Top Answer By Nandini Sen on 28 Jun 21

Ans
Punjab University is located in Chandigarh and there are many places to visit and things to do there on weekends. But then again after some visits, it will eventually become repetitive and except for a few places which are worthy of a second visit, you will eventually get bored. So here are some things you could try to do on weekends instead – Mohali, a nearby town in Punjab is famous for international cricket matches as well as IPL. You could visit there sometimes with your friends. The university campus is beautiful. If you are a photography enthusiast or you are fond of making video blogs, then definitely you could consider doing those during weekends. Also, the city of Chandigarh is close to the Himalayas. So there are plenty of hill stations such as Manali, Kullu, Kasauli, etc. to visit and spend the weekend in mother nature’s lap. You could also join some club or committee or society and work on your weekends. They organize various activities such as street plays, blood donation camps, BP and diabetes-free check-up camps, etc. You could volunteer for such activities which will help in better utilization of your time along with doing your bit for the society. Lastly, you could also sleep in your own room and enjoy movies, TV shows, etc. on Netflix. This is the most common thing that youngsters do. If you are among those who like to keep their rooms clean, then you could do that on your weekends as well.

Ques
Which university is better: Punjab University Punjabi University or GNDU?

● Top Answer By Rohan Singh, on 10 Nov 21

Ans
One of my friends studied CSE at Punjabi University. I can share some details about why Punjabi University will be a good choice. The most important highlight is its faculty. There are around 72 teachers. Most of them hold Ph.D degrees.  It has the biggest library, with a huge collection of books.  AC reading rooms are provided for the students and it is accessible 24 hours a day. The college faces no disturbances and enjoys a peaceful environment. The infrastructure and facilities provided are top-notch. You will get AC labs, well equipped with modern and updated machinery. Even the hostels are well maintained as claimed by the students themselves. All the 3 universities are government-owned, thus have a good reputation. Punjab university is the oldest among the three. It has a very large campus. Punjabi University and Guru Nanak University, on the other hand, were established later on.
