Course Description
IIT Hyderabad MTech admissions are based on GATE Score followed by COAP counselling. For IIT Hyderabad MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 20th October, 2023.
IIT Hyderabad offers M.Tech in 39 different specialisations. MTech course offered by IIT Hyderabad is of 2 years duration which is seggregated into 4 semesters. The institute also offers an executive M.Tech program. The GATE qualified candidates are offered seats through the COAP counselling. For IIT Hyderebad MTech admission, the college has participated till round 8 in the COAP counselling 2023.
Candidates having an IIT BTech degree with 8.0 CGPA are eligible to apply for IIT Hyderebad MTech program directly. GATE 2024 COAP Registration Process
After passing the GATE entrance exam, candidates are to register for the COAP counseling process to secure their admission into IITs, NITs, and other participating institutes. COAP provides a common platform for the registered candidates to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M.Tech. Program in the participating Institutes.
Eligibility Criteria to Register for COAP 2024
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates should have a valid GATE score from 2023/2022/2021.
GATE 2024 COAP Step by Step Registration Process:
The candidates can successfully apply for GATE COAP 2024 by simply following the below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of COAP @ coap.iitd.ac. and click on the registration link.
Step 2: Fill in details such as their GATE Registration Number, GATE Paper Code, GATE score, date of birth.
Step 3: Click on the “Validate” icon and enter the registered email id and mobile number.
Step 4:Click on the “Submit to Register” button.
Step 5: After the registration is successfully done for COAP 2024, the candidates will obtain a Login ID and Password for COAP Login. The same will be sent via Email and SMS.
Step 6: The COAP registration will only be considered as complete only if the candidates log in using the Login ID and Password and verify the registration details.

Self Sponsored MTech in IIT Hyderabad
Self-sponsored MTech at IIT Hyderabad is of three types:
- Ministry of Education Supported students: Candidates under this category are given admission either on the basis of GATE score or BTech degree with 8.00 CGPA from IIT. The students are given support by the Ministry of Education or any other agency that is jointly offering the program with a scholarship of INR 12,400/ month (for 24 months). The students are required to pay a tuition fee of INR 7500 per semester.
- Govt Lab/ Industry Sponsored students: Candidates under this category should have a 1st class BTech degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in any Public industry or any Government research Lab. The candidates are selected for admission based on a written test or an interview round. Students pursuing this course will have to pay tuition fees of INR 30,000 per semester. The candidates under this category will not receive any scholarships.
- Self-Sponsored students: These students should have the first-class BTech and will be selected based on a written test and/or an interview. The candidates will have to pay a tuition fee of INR 20,000 per credit for 48 credits in 24 months. The admission fee of INR 1 lakh will be absorbed in the tuition fee. They will not receive any scholarships.

IIT Hyderabad:
66 students from the computer science engineering department from IIT Hyderabad have been placed with an offer.
The maximum number of students hired was from the CSE batch. The hiring companies were Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Airtel, Nvidia, Qualcomm.
BITS Pilani:
82% of students were placed with an offer at BITS Pilani in the engineering field.
100% of students were placed in the CSE branch.
