Ques

How good are IIIT Kota and IIIT Jabalpur in terms of placement and education?

● Top Answer By Mehak Ghosal on 17 Mar 21

Ans
IIIT Kota is very new and is yet to make a mark with respect to IIIT Jabalpur. Whereas, with IIIT-Jabalpur the placements do keep varying. More or less, the placements are improving. Academics: IIIT Jabalpur has a very sound academic curriculum owing to the fact that IIT Kanpur was its mentor. In IIIT Kota the curriculum is good but it hardly matters when you have teachers with hardly any knowledge. The interdisciplinary curriculum in IIIT Jabalpur makes the academic bit steadfast with the add-on of designing structure. Moreover, academic projects are floated in almost every important course. Hence, adding a skill set to the students. So, to put it together, the academics are nice, but placements can be improved. Being from IIIT gives you a special charm. Also, being new IIITs, they will take some time to establish themselves and the education factor is quite decent when compared to tier-2 private engineering colleges. But, they still have a long way to go reach the bar set by NITs or IITs. The top bracket companies pay really well, but these new IIITs won't be the first choice for these companies. The mid-range paying companies will flock to these new IIITs; so, you will get a decent package. So overall, it is better to have something than nothing.

How are hostels in IIIT Jabalpur?

● Top Answer By Rohan Singh on 08 Apr 21

Ans
IIIT Jabalpur hostels are good. Its rooms are just like any other private college. They are not like other Government college’s hostels. IIIT Jabalpur has 3 hostels, Hall of residence 1, Hall of residence 3, and Hall of residence 4.  Rooms: There are 1 seat, 3 seaters, and 4 seaters room. The rooms of hostels are spacious and big. Hostels do not have a/c facility in their room. There are beds for every single person. Each student also allotted wardrobes for keeping their personal belongings. All the rooms also have Wi-fi facilities with good bandwidth.  Canteens: The hostels also have a canteen facility that runs till midnight.  Restrictions: There are no strict restrictions on timing.  Hygiene and Cleanness: The hygiene and cleanses of the rooms are good. Cleaner comes to clean and mopped the room. These charges are included in the hostel fees.  Mess: The hostel has a mess facility. But students mostly don’t depend on the mess food. There are Nescafe, Subway, and other eateries outside the campus.  Sports facility: The hostel has a Student Activity Centre known as SAC, where there is a cricket ground, basketball, and volleyball court. Along with that it also has an indoor sports facility. So if you are a sports enthusiast, you will surely have a great time here. Therefore, if you are thinking of joining IIIT Jabalpur, then surely apply for its hostel. It has a great hostel facility, which is also in good condition.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur: What is it like to be a student at IIITDMJ?

● Top Answer By Paulami Kar on 25 Mar 21

Ans
One of my school friends passed out from IIITDMJ last year. He has described his wonderful experience through a timeline, which is depicted below. Year 2016-17 This was the most unforgettable year of his 4-year journey. Although they were excited to join the college there was fear of being ragged by seniors. However interaction with the seniors turned out to be fun and helpful later. As the first semester started, the fear of Lamba sir (Mathematics for Continuous Domain) was engulfing the whole batch. But they didn’t stop enjoying every moment and some of them posed themselves as seniors and started to rag their own batch-mates on phones.  Also, he still remembers the day when India won the world cup and they piled up all the chairs inside the mess. Year 2017-18 This year their hostel was shifted to TFRI campus. Counter-strike fever gripped almost the entire batch. Every Friday night the whole mess used to be hijacked for this purpose after dinner. Every morning they used to rush to catch the college buses from TFRI to GEC.  Sharing a small hostel room (1 bathroom) with 2 other guys became difficult. This year was not that fun because all of them were exhausted with this hectic schedule Year 2018-19 They were shifted back to their own campus, happy and mesmerized by the beauty of surrounding flora and fauna. However, they faced problems with water, electricity and other basic necessities. The sixth semester was special because they were going to host Tarang'18. Through their combined hard work, they were able to put up a grand show with Jal performing at their campus, the first time in Central India. Year 2019-20 As the Final Year approached, they all were worried about placements and so was my friend, as CSE representative. His days used to pass by getting contact numbers of Company HR, talking to them. By the end of December all CSE was placed (majority in Infosys). Early morning cricket matches started and my friend along with many other CSE guys started to bunk Machine Learning classes taken by Manish Sir. After having so much fun, finally, the day arrived when they started to pack their bags and start a new journey. They gave a farewell to themselves. It all depends on how you socialize with people and make the best out of every moment of your journey.

Which is better for CS/ECE NIT Hamirpur, NIT Jalandhar, IIIT Kancheepuram, IIIT Jabalpur?

● Top Answer By Arshit Jain on 04 Jan 23

Ans
Keeping in mind the academic environment and placement statistics, the following should be the preferences: CSE at NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Jabalpur, NIT Jalandhar, and IIIT Kancheepuram. ECE at NIT Hamirpur, ECE at NIT Jalandhar, IIIT Kancheepuram, and then IIIT Jabalpur. Choose a college with a broadband internet connection in the hostels for CSE. In general, the faculty at all of these colleges will be mediocre, and you will be forced to rely on the internet for your education. Once the CSE and hostel broadband requirements have been met, consider which college is closer to home, near a city, and not in a country where you do not speak the native language.

Ques

Which is better: IIITDM Jabalpur or IIITM Gwalior (in all aspects)?

● Top Answer By Ayantika Ghosh on 24 Mar 21

Ans
Firstly, there is no doubt that IIITMG has a better reputation, placement record, and facilities as it is nearly 8 years older than IIITDMJ. But this is only one side of the coin and most people don't see the other side of the coin. Let me show you these in broader aspects Talking about placements, IIITM G may have a better placement record but we also must not forget that we are comparing graduates with undergraduates. We are comparing a student with a dual degree to a student with a single degree and hence this comparison is not fair. Categories IIITDM Jabalpur IIITM Gwalior Course Fee 5.29 lakh 5.4-6.7 lakh Placement Percentage 82% 90% Highest CTC 25 LPA 30 LPA Average CTC 7.41 LPA 13-14 LPA Recruiting Companies IBM, Amazon, BHEL, Capgemini, Global Logic, etc. Microsoft, Amazon, PayTM, Goldman Sachs, Myntra and Adobe Coming to the dual degree, you must think twice before enrolling in a dual degree course. 2 cases may are: First case: If you want to earn as soon as you are graduated, but a dual degree doesn't give you this freedom and you are forced to study for an extra 1 year before you start with a job. If you get a whooping package then it's fine otherwise it is just a waste of time. Second Case: You want to go for further studies. In this case, it may seem that a dual degree is a blessing but if you think about it, then you may think that you are limiting your chance of doing a master's from any other and better college. For example, if someone graduated from a 4-year program and did his master's from IIT-B then it's a win-win situation for him. Third Case: If you want to go for an MBA, then you are saving yourself from appearing in CAT and GMAT, but this is the same as above. You are losing your chance to get an MBA degree from IIMs. I will advise you to have a deep discussion with your parents, go through some articles and then decide which one is good for you.

Which is better iiit jabalpur or iiit gwalior?

● Top Answer By Vandana Munshi on 25 May 21

Ans
IIITs were set up as premier institutions to meet the global requirement in the field of CS and IT. MHRD has set up 4 IIITs which are at Gwalior, Allahabad, Jabalpur, and Kanchipuram. Some facts of both the colleges are given below: IIITDM Jabalpur:  IIITDMJ is deemed a university and is in collaboration with JAPAN.  Every year a few students are selected to visit JAPAN during their 3rd year. A management committee of this consortium supports IIITDMJ.  Under the exchange program, faculty from both countries visit each other. The college offers a specialized course and has only 4 branches i.e CSE, ECE, MECH, DESIGN.  IIITM Gwalior: The research projects are sponsored by bodies like DRDO, MCIT, DRDE, MHRD etc. Collaborations with other institutes include Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon, ICTP, Italy, and many more.  Categories IIITDM Jabalpur IIITM Gwalior Course Fee (approx.) 5.29 lakh 5.4-6.7 lakh Placement Percentage (overall) 60-70% 85% Highest CTC 42 LPA 40 LPA Average CTC 4.5 LPA 8 LPA Recruiting Companies Deloitte, HCL, IBM, Infosys, etc. Microsoft, Google, Byju’s, Carwale, etc. Both IIIT Gwalior and IIIT Jabalpur are equally good. The programs offered are the main difference. Overall, IIIT Gwalior is the potential choice.

Ques

Among IIIT Jabalpur and PEC Chandigarh, which is better? Why?

● Top Answer By Shabana Jain on 28 Jul 21

Ans
IIT Bhubaneshwar has come into existence recently and it is a new and young institute. It needs to develop more to grow and attain the reputation like other well stable institutes. It has to improve in terms of infrastructure, faculty, and opportunities. A few points on IIT Kharagpur before taking a decision: IIT Kharagpur is a well stable and maintained institute and has everything that you wish in an institute. It has the best faculty, reputation, and infrastructure. You can choose IIT Kharagpur if you want to spend your college years on a good campus with all the facilities as it is heaven for four years. If you are not getting the branch of your interest, there is an option to change the branch. But you must attain a higher GPA in your first semester, however, it is not an assured way and is risky. Compared with Industrial System Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, EE at IIT Bhubaneshwar would be a better option as the academics and job opportunities are better. You will receive great placement offers in IIT Bhubaneshwar also. It ends up at the branch you are interested in and then the institute. Both these branches are like North and south.

Ques

Which will be better, IIIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur or IIIT Kancheepuram?

● Top Answer By Shubham Rathee on 29 Apr 21

Ans
My brother has just completed his B.tech from IIITDM Jabalpur and some of my friends also studied at the other two institutes. According to their experience and the NAAC Ranking, IIITDM tops among the three of them. The rating considers everything including infrastructure and facilities. Following are the key points that give IIITDM an edge over the two. Alumni network: IIITDM is the oldest institute having a much larger history and alumni base as compared to IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram. Whereas the other two institutes might have just 2-3 batches completed. Campus: Knowledge is easily accessible to everyone even you can watch Stanford Lectures from Home. Here also, IIITDM Jabalpur is at advantage. The seniors are very helpful and won’t hesitate to give you a hand. Placements: IIITDM being located in the central part of India, has the advantage of better placements. Even core companies like ISRO and DRDO visit the campus for recruitment. Categories IIIT Guwahati IIITDM Jabalpur IIIT Kancheepuram Course Fee 9.05 lakhs 5.29 lakhs 5.25 - 6.55 lakhs Placement Percentage 60% 82% 75% Highest CTC 12-16 LPA 15-20 LPA 14 LPA Average CTC 5.2 LPA 7-8 LPA 7 LPA Recruiting Companies L&T, Infosys, HP, IBM, etc. Oracle, ISRO, DRDO, HCL, etc. Adobe, Amazon, nVidia, Zentrum Labs, etc. Global tie-ups: IIITDM Jabalpur has tie-ups with countries like Japan, China, and Korea which creates opportunities for higher education if you are interested. Infrastructure: It is clearly better than IIIT Guwahati, and IIIT Kancheepuram as the latter two are newly established hence lacking some basic facilities for now. All in all, it is not advisable to rely on the college just for jobs and placements. It is crucial to focus on learning and develop new skills which may come in handy in the future.

Ques

Is it worthy to get admission into IIITM Gwalior or IIITDM Jabalpur for an MTech in CSE in terms of placement?

● Top Answer By Malini Bose on 23 Jul 21

Ans
One of my close friends is an alumnus of IIITM Gwalior and here is what he had to say about their M.Tech in CSE program. IIITM Gwalior offers a five-year integrated program which is called Integrated Post Graduate (IPG). It is in the form of 3+2 and therefore, for the first three years the course is the same for everyone. For the next two years, you can either opt for M.Tech or MBA. So the course is a combination of B.Tech and M.Tech/MBA, whichever you opt for. When the institution was established, this was not so common. The institution provides a plethora of opportunities in the fields of self-learning, innovation, and application. The campus is huge. 10 years ago, it was in its budding stage and was exploring various possibilities of growth in aspects like infrastructure, facilities, and faculties. Today, it stands as a well-established institution. You will find a lot of opportunities at IIITM Gwalior since it is an IT institute. It all depends on you, how well you make use of it. Many of the alumni of the institute are working for top technology firms. This clearly shows how well the course structure is and how competitive, as well as corporate culture, is instilled in the students as a part of the curriculum. The infrastructure that the college has built in the last few years is astonishing. From sports facilities to computer labs, arts and drama, and all other forums, everything is amazing. Each hosteller is allotted a single room. You do not have to share your room with anyone. IIITM Gwalior is the best choice but, the decision is yours. Weigh out the pros and cons and choose for yourself.
