JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the exam is held twice a year. The first session will be held in January 2021, while the second session will be conducted in April 2021. However, it’s being speculated that JEE Main 2021 Registration and exam dates for January might get delayed by a month. Candidates planning to do B. Tech, B. Arch, and B. Plan courses are supposed to sit for separate JEE Main papers.

B. Arch and B. Planning will be conducted separately as Paper II and Paper III respectively while B. Tech is the first exam. There are a total of 100 questions asked in the B. Marking Scheme for JEE Main B. Planning Paper

  • All questions asked in Maths, Aptitude, and Planning Based sections hold equal weightage.
  • Candidates will get 4 marks on every correct option while will lose 1 mark in case they clocked on the wrong answer.
  • Each Numeric Value question is of 4 marks.

JEE Main B. Planning Syllabus

JEE Main Syllabus is prescribed by the NTA, candidates giving the exam are supposed to refer to the official website to check the latest and updated syllabus. The JEE Main syllabus is asked from the chapters studied in Class 11 and 12. Students can prepare through the NCERT syllabus. For JEE Main Paper III (B. JEE Main 2020 B. Planning Paper Analysis

In order to have a better understanding on what to expect for JEE Main B. Planning 2021, we must analyse the previous year’s papers.

JEE Main is a national level entrance exam taken to offer admission in B.Arch, B.Plan, B.Tech and BE courses offered by the NITs, IIITs, CFTIs. The top 2.5 lakh qualifiers of JEE Main 2020 were supposed to give JEE Advanced 2020 for admission to the aforementioned courses in the IITs. Results of JEE Main 2020 were declared on September 11, 2020.

JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis - September Session

  • Test takers who appeared for the exam found the overall difficulty level to be from easy to moderate.
  • Part 1, ie: the Maths section has a total of 25 questions, including 20 MCQs and 5 numerical based questions. Mathematics was a bit tricky and different kinds of questions were asked in the B. Planning section. But the level of difficulty was easy as compared to the January session as per the feedback shared by many test takers.
  • The planning section has a total of 25 questions which were found to be easy by many test takers.
  • B. Planning maths section was at a moderate level, while aptitude and planning were comparatively easy.
  • No errors were witnessed in the question papers and candidates who appeared in the September session followed proper social distancing and other safety measures.

JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis - January Session

As per the students who appeared for JEE Main in January, Paper 3 was easier as compared to last year. Test takers who have had their exam on January 6 said that JEE Main 2020 Paper 3 was easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level.

JEE Main 2020 B. Planning Answer Key and Response Sheet

  • NTA uploads the JEE Main B.Arch and B. Planning answer key and response sheet within a few days of the exam each year.
  • The answer key and response sheet is made available on the official website. 
  • The response sheet allows candidates to check the answers which they gave on the day of the exam.
  • On the answer key, the exam authority uploads the right answer of each question asked in the exam.

The answer keys and response sheets of both, JEE Main B. Arch and B. Planning are uploaded on the official website under the respective login details of the candidates. Candidates are supposed to login using their application number and password / date of birth to view the answers key and response sheet.

Moreover, NTA permits candidates to challenge the answer key by paying the challenge fees applicable for each objection made. After reviewing the challenge, any amendments required in the answer key will be done. The final answer key is later made available on the official website. Candidates can refer to the same to calculate their scores.
