The ultimate goal of every engineering aspirant who wants their academic lives to be secured within the proper environment of IITs and NITs has to be JEE Main. JEE Main is the first step towards getting into these prestigious institutions. Previously, an aspirant had to compete against more than 12 Lakhs candidates to get into the top 2.4 Lakhs who will appear for the JEE Advanced Exam which happens to be the final step towards getting into these. This year, due to induction of EWS quota in seat allotment, the number of seats has increased to 2.5 Lakh.

JEE Main 2020 January session was conducted from January 6 - 9, 2020, the result for the same was declared on January 17, 2020. JEE Main 2020 Cut Off will be released after the declaration of JEE Main April 2020 session results. Check JEE Main Expected Cut Off

JEE Main Seat Allotment Schedule 2020

Once the JEE Main results are declared, the results sheet is handed over to the Seat Allocation Board or in some cases the concerned state government/ institute for holding seat allocation and admission procedure for the qualifying students. For JEE Main 2020 the Seat Allotment is being conducted by JoSAA. This article will provide complete details of JoSAA and seats available at the IITs. The procedure of the same is mentioned below:

  1. A total of 7 seat allotment lists for admissions for JEE Main 2020 via JoSSA will be published at the official website of JoSAA or CSAB.

  2. The list will have details such as All India Rank, candidate’s name, admit card number, and category.

  3. Shortlisted candidates will have approximately a week-long window for securing a seat in the respective IIT. (However, to get the one which is desired by the student and goes with their merit one must complete the registration process ASAP. The choices made will not be changed or altered in any manner once submitted.)

  4. To secure admission based on the 1st Allotment List published by JoSSA, a requisite Counselling Fee has to be deposited along with the proper verification of the required documents.

  5. Candidates will have to access their JoSSA accounts for knowing which of the IITs have been allotted to them in the first round of JoSSA Counselling 2020.

  6. The subsequent list will comprise the names of finalized candidates who have deposited the counselling fee in the previous round along with the names of waitlisted candidates.

  7. Candidates can exercise two options; either to lock the allotted seat or select the option for shifting.

  8. There will be no refund of the counselling fee after the last date of withdrawal from the JoSSA 2020 admission process.

  9. Lastly, a provisional admission letter will be issued in the name of the selected candidate.
