JEE Main will be conducted from July 18 - July 23, 2020, the fresh dates were announced by union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on May 5, 2020 during a webinar. The exam will be conducted in multiple sessions on July 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 as per the announcement. 

The education minister also announced the new date for the medical entrance exam NEET 2020, it will be held on July 26, 2020. Considering the postponement of JEE Main 2020 for the coming session, JEE Advanced will now be conducted in August, NTA shall soon release official notices regarding the exam dates on its official website i.e. nta.ac.in. 

Over 16 lakh students will appear in NEET and around 9 lakh students will appear for JEE Main as per the national testing agency. The students are advised to proceed with self-study through online portals of SWAYAM and SWAYAM Prabha TV. The relevant content will be telecasted on swayam prabha TV in the areas that have low connectivity so that the students in rural areas can prepare.

  • Also, the education minister advised the candidates to prepare with Diksha Portal. Diksha portal includes the contents for various examinations in multiple languages. It also has the national repository from open universities.

While addressing the students the education minister suggested some important tips for the preparation of JEE Main and NEET 2020:

  • Go through the NCERT books again

  • Utilise maximum time to study and stay away from social media

  • Take mock tests regularly.

  • Choose a separate place to study peacefully.

  • Make a schedule for everyday

  • Go through youtube and online classes to solve doubts and queries

  • Don’t take unnecessary stress and always take short breaks 

  • Stay in touch with seniors and ask them to suggest the beneficial things

  • Stay away from television and watch only relevant and important things to stay informed
