  • Questions in Physics were a combination of formula-based and concept-based questions. 3-5 questions were directly based on JEE Main specific topics.
  • Unlike previous shifts, the mathematics section was not very lengthy but did have some tricky questions. 
  • Chemistry was based on NCERT with a balanced number of questions from Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.

JEE Main 2023 is conducted online as a computer-based test. Candidates are given 3 hours to attempt 75 out of 90 questions. JEE Main 2023 Question Paper will be released in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

JEE Main Question Paper is based on MCQs and Numerical Type Questions. There are three sections in the paper which include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A total of 30 questions are asked in each section of the paper carrying a total weightage of 300 marks (each question carrying 4 marks). There is also a negative marking of 1 marks for each incorrect answer.
