JEE Main 2023 Paper Analysis Jan 29 Shift 1

According to the initial student reaction, JEE Main 2023 Question Paper Jan 29 Shift 1 covered almost all chapters from Class 11th and 12th CBSE Syllabus. The overall difficulty of the paper was easy to moderate. 

  • Mathematics was tough and lengthy with more weightage to Coordinate Geometry. 
  • Questions in Chemistry were based on NCERT and was moderate in terms of overall difficulty. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform from Physical, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry.
  • Questions in Physics were mostly formula and concept based. A good number of numerical-based questions were also asked in the exam which were integer based.
  • In Physics, students found the weightage of Class 12th more as compared to Class 11th. Easy questions from electrostatic and communications were asked. 
  • There were new questions in Physics that had not been asked in JEE Main 2023 Day 1 and Day 2 exams such as-
    • A question from Fluids to find the Surface Energy
    • A question from Doppler Effect to find Beat Frequency.
    • There was also a new question from Gravitation to find the velocity when two objects are in a circular motion.

Physics Topics with Highest Weightage 3 questions from Modern Physics, 2 questions from Electromagnetic Waves. Other chapters were also included in due proportions 
Chemistry Topics with Highest Weightage Coordination Compounds, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics Redox Reactions, Chemical bonding, Chemical Kinetics, p-block and Metallurgy.
Mathematics Topics with Highest Weightage 2 questions from binomial, 3-4 questions from Vector and 3D, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry

JEE Main 2023 is conducted online as a computer-based test. Candidates will be given 3 hours to attempt 75 out of 90 questions. JEE Main 2023 Question Paper will be released in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

JEE Main Question Paper is based on MCQs and Numerical Type Questions. There are three sections in the paper which include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

A total of 30 questions are asked in each section of the paper carrying a total weightage of 300 marks (each question carrying 4 marks). There is also a negative marking of 1 marks for each incorrect answer.

What After JEE Main 2023 January Session?

After the conclusion of JEE Main 2023 January Session, NTA is going to release JEE Main 2023 Answer Key PDF on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. First provisional answer key will be released which will be open for challenges, if any. Once all the objections raised have been scrutinized, NTA is going to release the final JEE Main 2023 Answer Key.

These final answer key will be used to calculate JEE Main Result 2023. Candidates aiming for admission to NITs, must score 200+ marks. Candidats aiming for admission to IITs, must score 90%ile and above to be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2023 Registration April Session to Begin from February 7

NTA is going to begin JEE Main 2023 Registration April Session from February 7. Both fresh and Session 1 candidates can apply for JEE Main 2023 April Session. The exam is going to be conducted on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 2023. Candidates will be able to register for JEE Main 2023 April Session till March 7, 2023 (11:50 PM).
