XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar) is one among the 12 private b-schools under Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar along with 84 non XAMI Institutes.

Candidates who wish to secure a seat in any one of its management programs must appear in any one of the management entrance exams; CAT, XAT, GMAT, and X-GMT. Candidates appearing in CAT 2020 will be eligible to apply for the management program offered by the institute. 

  • Last date to apply for the management program was December 10, 2020.
  • Apart from applying for the entrance exam, candidates have to apply for the management program separately by visiting the official website of the institute.
  • Candidates may apply for more than one program through different entrance tests. This can be done through a single application form. 
  • Candidates who will choose X-GMT will have to pay an extra amount of INR 1200.

CAT 2020 #Facts 

  • CAT 2020 has been conducted on November 29, 2020. 
  • CAT 2020 result has been released on January 2, 2021. With the scorecard, all IIMs and other b-schools will release the CAT cutoff scores for admission.

It is to be noted that the candidates aspiring to take admission in any of the management program mentioned must appear in any of the management entrance exams. 

There may be separate cutoff marks on CAT/XAT/GMAT/X-GMT score for the residents of Odisha state. 


Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for different management offered by XIMB is given below:

  • There is no age limit to apply any of the management programs offered by the institute. 
  • Candidates must have appeared in XAT 2020/ CAT 2020/ GMAT 2018/19/ X-GMT 2020. 
  • Candidates must have passed bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate from a recognized university. 
  • Candidates applying for executive management program must have a minimum of 3-years work experience. 
  • Final year candidates in Bachelor’s degree programs who will appear in the final examination till June 15, 2021 and expecting results by September 30, 2021 are also eligible to apply for the management programs at XIMB.

How to Apply?

Candidates aspiring to take admission in the management programs offered the institute has applied for the same online by visiting the official website. The steps to be followed are given below. 

Step 1 - Visit the official website i.e. xub.edu.in. 

Step 2 - Click on the link stating “Apply for Admission”.

Step 3 - Fill up the login details to receive XUBID/Login ID and Password

Step 4 - Login using the same login id and password to fill the entire application form. 

Step 5 - Fill up the Personal Details, Academic Details, Professional Details, choose the program/s you want to apply for and the respective test options. 

Step 6 - Upload your photo & signature

Step 7 - Click on “Submit”

Step 8 - Pay the application fee. 

Step 9 - Once the candidate will fill the form and paid the application fee, they will receive the confirmation mail.

What is X-GMT?

X-GMT is the online admission test conducted by XUB at different locations i.e. Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi to offer admission in MBA, MBF, and executive MBA program. X-GMT 2020 is scheduled to be held on January 30, 2021. 

  • There is no separate application form that is needed to be filled for the exam. 
  • Candidates may choose the option to take the exam while filling out the application form for admission in the MBA program. 
  • The exam fee is INR 1200 which can be paid along with the application fee for the program. 
  • The exam contains multiple-choice questions from quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, and logical reasoning and general awareness and emotional quotient. 

XIMB Selection Criteria 2021

XIM Bhubaneswar will decide the section-wise as well as total cut off marks which will be used for shortlisting candidates. The selection process is given below in brief:

  • The shortlisted applicants will be called for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
  • These rounds will be held in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata.
  • The final selection will be done based on the candidate’s performance in XAT/ CAT/ GMAT or X-GMT as well as in the WAT and PI.
  • The academic and work profile of students will also be considered for preparing this list.
  • The institute will inform candidates who are selected by email in the month of April 2021.

XIMB Expected CAT Cutoff 

Shortlisting of applicants for WAT and PI rounds will be done based on sectional as well as overall CAT cut off. The overall cut off required for the institute falls around 91 percentile.

Ques - I have filled the application form but I made a discrepancy in the form. Can I edit the form?

Ans - No, the institute does not offer the facility to correct the application form. 

Ques - Who will conduct the GD and PI as a part of the selection process?

Ans - All the shortlisted candidates will have to appear in GD and WAT followed by PI which will be conducted by the institute itself. 

Ques - How will I get to know whether I am shortlisted for the further round of admission process? 

Ans - Candidates will be shortlisted based on the admission test and the list will be displayed on the website of the institute in the first week of February 2020.
