Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai accepts CAT, XAT, GMAT scores to offer admission in the MBA programs like PGDM, PGP, MMS. CAT Cut off for admission in the Bangalore or Mumbai campuses varies. For example, last year to get admission to the Bangalore campus CAT overall cut off was 80%ile and the subject-wise cut off was 50%ile

Apart from MBA courses, the institute also offers part-time, certificate, and special courses. For admission in PGDM, candidates need to have a valid score in CAT / XAT/ ATMA/ CMAT/ GMAT followed by GD & PI Admission to MMS program is based on the valid scores in MAH-MBA, CAT 2021, CMAT, GMAT, etc examinations.

Only short listed candidates will be called after Stage I for Stage II of the selection process. Profile-based call in Welingkar Institute of Management

Applicants with a good overall profile will be called for GDPI. The parameters of a good profile will include:

  • Strong academic background,
  • Work experience and good academic consistency
  • Extracurricular initiatives leading to Achievements and Awards (international/ national/ district level)

These are early interview calls, to benefit the students with a good profile, so they have an opportunity to appear for the GDPI.

Final selection for Welingkar Institute of Management

The final selection is based on the composite score of Entrance Test (35%) +Overall profile (65%)

This will evaluate the student’s response to the essay questions in the form, work experience, if any, how the candidate responds to the activities and questions posed in the GDPI, etc.

Important points to be Noted

  • Student with a high written test score doesn’t guarantee a shortlisting as the student may be found lacking on other areas on which the Institute lays emphasis.
  • Students with a low written test may be shortlisted if they are academic performers / have exhibited leadership qualities / performed exceptionally well on areas of the Institute’s focus.
  • So, there is no Cut Off score as the written test alone cannot be the sole deciding factor in the selection process.

To test emotive aspects of leadership, decision making skills, ability to handle stress, team orientation, etc. Group Discussions and Interviews have been added as a part of the selection process.
