IIM Ranchi is one of the prestigious IIMs located throughout India. It a public business school located in Ranchi (Jharkand, India) and was founded in 2010. IIM Ranchi offers a two year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), as well as a five year Fellowship program and an Executive program.

  • CAT counselling will be held for candidates who qualify all the selection rounds, based upon the Consolidated Merit List (CML).

IIM Ranchi CAT Cutoff 2017

IIM Ranchi shortlists candidates eligible for WAT/PI process for admission to PGDM/PGDHRM program. The list will be prepared on the basis of performance in CAT and will be announced by the Institute around March 2020.

The overall CAT cut off percentile as well as sectional cut off scores for admission to IIM Ranchi for 2017 is given below:

NOTE:

  1. Every aspirant deemed eligible as per the above table may or may not find a place in the shortlist list. 
  2. The cut off percentile scores are just indicative and actual CAT percentile cut off is expected to be close to the cut off for the previous years. Check CAT Previous year cut off analysis
  3. A combined shortlist will be prepared in which the names of all selected students of 9 new IIMs will be enlisted for further processing.
  4. Separate lists will be prepared for different categories and ranks will be assigned to aspirants as per merit.

IIM Ranchi Application Process 2019

To apply for PGDM course, follow the below steps:

  1. Visit the official website of IIM Ranchi i.e. iimranchi.ac.in
  2. Download pdf version of IIM Ranchi application form
  3. Fill-in all your personal and academic details
  4. Pay application fee as per your category through Demand draft or Payment/Transaction
  5. Enclose your academic documents, age proof, relevant score cards, experience certificates including mark sheets and certificates of all public examinations in one envelope
  6. Send the filled for to:

IIM Ranchi Eligibility and Selection

  • IIM Ranchi Eligibility requires a candidate to hold a bachelor’s degree (3 year minimum) with at least a 50% aggregate 
  • For SC / ST / PwD candidates it is 45% aggregate 
  • Candidate should have scored the mandatory prescribed sectional and overall score to be shortlisted 
  • Candidates in their final year are also applicable for admission on the basis that they produce a certificate the can testify that they are in their final year and have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent 

Selection Criteria for PGDM 2019

Step 1: Shortlisting of Candidates for WAT and PI 

  • IIM Ranchi will devise a merit list for the students who have been shortlisted for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).  Read  CAT GD/WAT and PI Experiences
  • This list will be prepared on the basis of CAT score and will be announced in January, 2020. 
  • Expected cut off table (listed above) will be utilized for ranking candidates into different categories i.e. General, NC-OBC, SC etc. and further shortlisting based on the rank that they achieve
  • A separate list will be created by every IIM on the basis of their individualized shortlisting process

Step 2: Written Ability Test and Personal Interview 

  • The selection rounds of IIM Ranchi (PI and WAT) will be conducted on the same day at 5 different centers- Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai. 
  • Aspirants will have to write an essay on the topic given by the organizing institute within a duration of about 30 minutes.
  • Topics provided will assess the creative thinking ability and socio-political awareness of the individual.
  • Students may also be given the topics to write about economic and business affairs or sports for WAT.

Step 3: 3: Final Admission CAT 2019

  • After the Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews are completed, candidates who score the required marks will gain a rank on the merit list, better known as the Consolidated Merit List (CML)

Weightage Criteria for PGDHRM

Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is a two year, full time program. 

  • It allows candidates from diverse fields to join its highly intensive and integrative programme.
  • It includes 6 full trimesters and a summer project in between the two years. 
  • There is different weightage alloted to candidates on the basis of their undergraduate degree, their past work experience, their academic profile, and gender diversity
