Stage 2: Selection based on Past Academic Performance and Work Experience

Candidates shortlisted after analyzing their CAT score will be considered for the next stage i.e. shortlisting based on their past academic performance. Below given are the detailed procedure.

Past Academic Performance

Evaluation of student’s marks obtained in class 10th, 12th, and bachelor's degree programs is done at this stage for selecting candidates for the next stage. Based on their marks, students are categorized into “A”, “B”, “C” category. The score division based on which candidates are categorized into three sections is given in the table below.

% Score in 10th exam Rating A % Score in 12th exam Rating B % Score in Bachelor’s Degree exam Rating C
<=55 1 <=55 1 <=55 2
>55 and <=60 3 >55 and <=60 3 >55 and <=60 4
>60 and <=70 4 >60 and <=70 4 >60 and <=65 6
>70 and <=80 5 >70 and <=80 5 >65 and <=70 5
>80 and <=90 9 >70 and <=80 9 >70 10
>90 10 >90 10 - -

The formula to calculate the candidate’s Past Academic Performace is given below:

PAP Score = (0.25*A+0.35*B+0.40*C)

Work Experience

Work experience will also play an important factor in determining a candidate’s selection in PGP program. It is to be noted that the candidates with full-time work experience will only be considered. Part-time/Project/Internship/ CA Articleship /Pre-graduation work experience will not be considered for work experience. Formula to calculate work experience is given below:

WE = 0 for x <= 6

WE = 0 for x > 72

WE = x/36 for 6 < x <= 36

WE = 1 – ((x-36)/36) for 36 < x <= 72

Where x is the number of months of work experience.

Diversity Score

The total diversity score is counted out of 10 in which 5 points will be awarded based on their gender (0 for male and 5 for females and transgenders) and 5 points are awarded based on bachelors degree (Candidates with bachelor’s degree in any of the following: BA, BA(H), B.Sc, B.Sc.(H), BS, B.Com, B.Com(H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other Non-Engineering subject areas at the Bachelor’s level not mentioned here).

The total comprehensive score at stage 2 is calculated based on CAT score, PAP, WE and DI. Formula for the same is given below:

CS=0.35 * (CAT Total Score /#Maximum CAT Total Score * 10) + 0.35*(PAP Score) + 0.2* (WE Score) + 0.1*(Di Score)

Stage 3: Final Selection of Candidates

Candidates who have been shortlisted based on the comprehensive scores calculated at stage 2 and have submitted the application by the deadline will be considered for final admission in the program.

The final selection of the candidates will be done based on the candidate’s performance in the Personal Interview and Written Ability Test conducted by IIMN. At this stage, the Final Score (FS) of the candidate will now be calculated as follows:

FS= 0.35* (PI Score) + 0.05*(WAT Score) + 0.20* (CAT Score) + 0.20 * (PAP Score) + 0.20 * (WE Score)

The selection at this stage will strictly be based on the ranks of the candidates computed separately for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/DAP) on the basis of their Final Scores (FS). The numbers selected in different categories will be in proportions mandated by the law.

The selected candidates will receive provisional admission intimation by e-mail. To confirm the acceptance of the offer, the candidate has to pay an acceptance fee of Rs. 50,000 which will be adjusted towards Term I fees subsequently.

Once the candidate will submit the confirmation fee within the stipulated time, the admission will be confirmed otherwise the provisional admission will be cancelled.
