IIM Lucknow will be releasing its cut off after the announcement of CAT result. The institute will announce category-wise overall cut off and sectional cut off. Candidates must clear both the cut offs in order to get shortlisted for the next selection round. The final selection is done on the basis of CAT Score, GD and PI round

  • IIM Lucknow CAT Cut Off will be prepared on the basis of various factors such as a total number of students, the level of difficulty of the test, and availability of seats etc.
  • All the shortlisted students will be called for CAT Counselling on the basis of their cut off scores obtained in the exam.    
  • IIM Lucknow cut off for the general category candidates is set at 90 percentile
  • CAT Cut off varies for the courses. For PGP – Sustainable Management and PGP – Agri-Business Management, the cutoff range from 80 to 86 percentile.

Common Admission Test or CAT is a national-level management exam, conducted by one of the IIM’s on a rotational basis. It is a gateway to all 20 IIMs and other top B-schools in India.


IIM Lucknow Previous Year CAT Cut Off

Indian Institute of Management declared CAT cut off for the General category candidate which is 90. Over the past few years, overall percentile has remained constant for general category candidates of CAT. On the other hand, cut off percentile for PGP-SM and PGP-ABM ranges from 80 to 86 percentile

IIM Lucknow 2017 CAT Cut Off

IIM Lucknow Selection Criteria

Student’s selection is based on their CAT Score and result. All the shortlisted candidates are called for the selection process. The selection of eligible candidate is based on the result of Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Test. Following is the brief explanation of IIM Lucknow Admission Criteria:

Group Discussion

  • In this round, 8-10 students will be given a topic to discuss.
  • In this round candidate’s performance considering the personality traits possessed by him/her will be assessed.
  • Topics will be from National and International Politics, Current Affairs, Government Policies etc.

Written Ability Test

  • Students will be given one or more topics in which candidates have to write a brief essay. Time duration to complete this test varies from 15 minutes to 20 minutes. Some examples of Topics given in Written Ability Test are as follows:
  1. Media Influence
  2. Corruption in India
  3. Women’s Reservation Bill
  4. Should Petroleum Subsidy go away?

Personal Interview

This is the final round in which candidates have to appear in front of a panel of 4-8 interviewers. Candidate’s academic background, work experience, hobbies, interests, etc will be tested in this round.

Student’s selection at IIMs is affected by the various factors. The panel will consider many aspects such as Academic Qualification, Work experience, Extra Curriculum activities, etc. Each component weightage including CAT Score for selection of the student is given below:
